Yes, 1980's through to 1990's. Pulsar then replaced them at some point.

Cheers for the offer. I tried a few in there (Goldsmith's, Ernest Jones & Watch Gallery) and they didn't have it. Not sure if there is anything else there.

I'd go for a Seiko 5 from somewhere like Creation.
Alternatively if you want something smarter but still sensible budget the SEIKO SARB033 / 035 is very nice. Maybe with a distressed brown leather strap.
Its a nice balance.
I don't know what these people are like but they seem to have it: http://www.seiyajapan.com/products/s-sarb033

If you're not bothered about automatic movements, I just gave my father-in-law one of these, and it's a cracking watch for £84. Really hard to beat for <£100.

I bought a Seiko from them a few months ago, no complaints.

I think they do that in a solar variant and a titanium variant and maybe both for not a lot more.

Yeah it's lovely, nice that you've still got it.
Thanks for the tips everyone. I think I will go with Seiko SNK809 with a tan leather strap. Something like this:
So cheap! And also not too big.

I've got one of those. It was my first automatic watch. I love it. You're right, it is quite small but I really like the way it looks. Crazy accurate too.

Hello all,
I am looking for a mens watch as a gift for my best man. I am not looking to spend over £500. I am looking for something quite minimal in style. I have seen a few vintage omegas which would be nice. Does anyone have any advice? Or reputable places I can look online?

I picked up a vintage Omega Seamaster from vintage watch mart for under £300. No complaints.

It really is. I just couldn't get the plexi thing though - if they made it with sapphire I'd have another one straight away.
