  • It is a bit silly. You can buy a non branded grey and black striped Nato for about £20 and the Omega one retails for £150. Both look similar, but I couldn't put anything but original on my speedy. I spose it's up to the individual

  • @31trum - are you still in business, given the recent addition?

  • Bought a spring bar tool. Can't for the life of me get the thing to work. Gah.

  • What's there to work on a spring bar tool?

What are you trying to get off the watch? Bracelet, strap, etc?

  • Strap. The strap the watch came with is dying so was trying to replace it myself. Just a standard Seiko fabric thing, fairly sure it's spring bars underneath.

  • Pics?

There shouldn't be anything complicated about it but try using a bit more force...

  • ...unless its a screw in bar...

  • Or a fixed bar, or the blade of the tool is too thick to get in the gap, or you have shoulderless spring bars in there, or the fabric doesn't have enough give you allow you to slide the spring bar back enough to clear.

  • It's a Seiko so unlikely to have any of those things...

  • Just had this in as a part exchange. 2007 seadweller, box and papers. If anyone interested......

  • My Nato starp is gross. I haven't given it a bath in ages and just took it off to have a closer look. Not only has it got dried sweat marks on the inside, but some of them are yellowing.

Maybe this is enough of an excuse to get the SARB033.

  • ^^ Looks cheap? 😀

  • sea boardroom dweller

  • Ha. City Dweller..

  • ...Lives in the Cuuuuuuntry...

  • Best part of 10k? Aquintance haz, but moved on to Audemars as only really expensif if also butt ugly. 😀

  • Sent you a message mate .

  • the blade of the tool is too thick to get in the gap

    That sounds about right.

  • I have a knock off Bergeon tool and often have bother with the blade not being able to wedge in between the spring bar lip part and the lug. For removing bars from lugs without holes, I generally use a sharp pen knife.

  • I've got a tool which has a point at one end and a tiny flat head screw driver at the other end to deal with pins.

  • I want a Philippe Dufour Simplicity.

  • Will try the sharp knife trick. Thanks all.

  • Fine, I'll take Duality.

  • 2nd hand MilSub homage (V1 Steinhart Military Vintage), 1st day on the wrist. Feels super light on the NATO strap, love it so far (blatantly ripped off the setup that I was lusting after a few pages back)
