I'm with Wayne, get a flip clock.
This is our Grayson, it is one of my favourite things. It used to be on the wall of a building society and was then bought by a lady in Waltham Abbey who owned it for years before selling it to me. I think it's late 70s/early 80s but they still make the same model. It is very reliable and keeps great time.
They're fine as long as they aren't actually in your bedroom or right next to your bedroom door, but they only get proper loud at midnight at the end of the month.

Ouch. You're too tall. If it was anyone else their arms would have finished below the top of the wall.

Chronograph on the kitchen wall, great idea... Possibly the only time you can justify a chrono purchase?

Had a great result with my old (16 yrs to me) seiko diver 6306,7001 , six years ago it was dropped at customs, it sped up stupidly, two hours a day, no amount of regulating would sort that out, and it's been in a drawer since.
I recently found it and the average price is £120 for service. grrr!!
then decided to look for a movement, found the exact same movement in a very undesireable case........fully serviced, far cleaner than my one, no rusting/water damage or pitting, and delivered for £13 ALL IN!!! . ( it did take 3 weeks to get here)get in!!.
been checking and regulating for 3 weeks, it is tickettyboo!!!
so spent some cash (£30) on a high dome sapphire with a blue AR crystal.
which looks better in daytime...

@murtle "You never actually service a Seiko diver, you merely swap movements for the next generation".
Is that the watch that appears on the first page of this thread?

You know how they say "a joke isn't funny if you have to explain it"? That is a very handsome watch ruined by the fact they spell out that it uses Helvetica.

Really don't like the fact that the 12 and 6 are not centred. And Helvetica / Swiss is pretty close to a tautology, as Ben points out

I liked them too but they have a really garish logo embossed on the side so I didn't bother
