For Milgauss it's all about the 1019 and the 6541, I reckon, depending on whether you want restrained or sporty.

If budget's not an option, maybe.
Those 1019's are ~£10k minimum for a decent one...!

The second hand I think adds a bit of fun.

As Tim said... 1019 is special but sadly out of my league.
I like the GV.

Hello, I would like to buy myself a new watch, moving away from the lovely rolex's on this thread , I've got a budget of 200-300 pounds
automatic
well made
not fussed on brand , and would buy second hand
seiko skx007? don't like the rubber strap so a nice metal bracelet or nato,
any other good options?
many thanks -

Get an SKX007 from creation watches, my everyday watch and can't fault it. Its about £132 at the moment so budget to spare for extra straps which are nice way to make one watch feel like a few.
Also I have money to burn and want something new, MWC? some sort of chrono? I've been looking at ebay but nothing caught my eye.

I should have said budget around 100-250.

• #16187
This is the best £245 I've ever spent.

Depends what style you're looking for.
Someone posted this up a while ago which I've been pondering http://www.amazon.co.uk/Junkers-Bauhaus-Automatic-Watch-6060-5/dp/B0066GKTM6
Lots of older second-hand omegas in that price range, this is mine,
Or lots of Seikos on Creation Watches like the Orange Monster, SKX007, etc. Although I am being tempted by this:
Or as mentioned above, a few on Timefactors (although mainly top end of your budget) http://www.timefactors.com/watches.htm

Saw this huge thing on the wrist of the older gentleman who was dining with his date beside me tonight.
This photo has nothing to show how truly monstrous in size it was, but take my word for it, it was fucking enormous... -

Modded Monster....
How folks, I'm having a bit of a sort out, might anybody be interested in my Modded Monster?
This a first generation Seiko Monster, Dagaz dial, and yes, there is no date window, though I'm sure the date is happily clicking around beneath the dial, its a bit different but certainly makes setting the time easier! Green sapphire from Yobokies, this has a really subtle, almost non reflective coating to it, original Seiko SKX hour and minute hands with after-market "traffic lights" seconds hand (as found in the 6105 models).
It was serviced by a Seiko repairer before I bought it, and as such runs fine. You will notice on the pics that the case has been de-blinged a bit by the guy I bought it from, but it is nice and subtle, not overly meddled with, all in all it's a great looking 'tool' style watch. It comes with chunky "hammer" style bracelet, after-market "flat vent" style strap and a Panatime zulu. (will all fit up to 8.5" wrists)
It isn't pristine, it has been worn and as such there are a few scratches here and there commensurate with that, but it is in blinking good order, and the crystal is spotless!
The watch is located in Derbyshire and I am asking £150 ono including postage! Any questions drop me a PM!
Cheers,
Red
Ps...the pics are from the original ad when I bought it, though it hasn't changed and am happy to provide my own pics...these are just better...;)

It's decided , buying a SKX007 (J?) and a nice zulu or nato strap,
will probably mod in the future -

In other news, tried on a mates Royal Oak yesterday.
Really not much for 14k imo.
Felt like a G-Shock...
Been drooling over this after seeing @Souls explorer. larger size to fit my wrist @b&d
