  • I like a railmaster, too.

  • For sellz - £250 (LFGSS price)
1969 Omega Geneve - Automatic - Runs well, serviced 12 months ago.
9ct gold case. non original band but does have original Omega buckle/clasp.

This looks like something I need to have in my collection.

Can I PM you later? Just rushing out of office...

  • This would do nicely...

  • The Railmaster is just too big.

  • TS, I reckon all of those Omegas are re-dials (bar the Railmaster, of course).

Just be careful of where it's been. In India they cobble together frankenwatches, and that's often where they get re-dialled.

Black dials are usually gloss, apart from original military issue dials. The Seamster 600 (the one with triangular markers) was sold in large numbers with a black dial, but even that one is often re-dialled.

  • I know, I've been patiently scouring eBay for months now but most I like have been restored...

Believe me, I won't go near anything outside the EU... ;)

Back to the Omega forums I go...

  • I'm not sure a lot of these dials pictured ever originally existed. Of the three Seamasters posted above, one is a bastardisation of a WWW military dial.

I used to own an original cross-hair dial like the one above, but I'm not sure if they ever existed in black.

Originals do pop up from time to time.

  • ^^ Numbers look completely wrong on that?
(as does the matte black tbh)

  • Also, check how the tips of either the seconds hand, or minutes hand align with the markers. Often if there's a rail track marker ring, the hands will be too short or too long, and either not reach the rail track, or overshoot.

  • As an example, this is one of mine. Bought because I needed a bumper in my collection. Indian redial. Sorry for the really quick phone picture. Enjoy wearing it though.

  • Terrible photo of my gold Geneve

  • I have one of these - it's fucking lovely.

Dropped it off at Omega for a service. They take it completely apart, polish it, replace any worn parts then put it back together. You basically get a new watch back. For this, they charge £360.00, and the work is guaranteed for two years. I think that's a good deal.

To replace the strap, a small slither of leather, they want £280.00. What the fuck is that all about?

  • Hirsch straps are the best in my experience. They make the straps that the watch manufacturers put a huge premium on.

  • I love my little Hirsch rally strap, beautifully made...

  • Not as much as mumble's?

  • The Railmaster is just too big.
how big is the rail master?

  • This isn't the watch you're looking for...
    waves arm

  • ^^ there's also the Aqua Terra midsize.

  • Sorry old man... I like that.

  • But I don't see how this is an automatic... That looks like a manual. 2 different sites says auto.

  • I also think that's a manual.

  • I love the craftmanship, like the milled solid piece of marine-grade stainless steel watch body.
But at £910 maybe Uniform Wares have something similar..
