  • I am looking for talented cyclist to work on an event in October.
We have two venues and we need to take guests on tandem trips between the two.
We'd require you to work on the following dates:

29th Oct – 2 prep hours recce on route and testing the tandems
    30th Oct – 3 event hours from 8am – 11am

We have £20 per hour available = £100 in total

    Contact me on: thomsonfraser@googlemail.com

    Thanks

  • I run a london based logistics company. Mostly deal with fine art and high end furniture although anything that goes in a van we'll take too.
Have a warehouse in North London and a fleet of 8 vehicles (mostly Luton box vans and Sprinters

Finally found the Services thread again...

I just wanted to say huge thanks to Sweaty/Ollie for providing a Sprinter and a driver who was willing to drive to Basel and back (1400km in two days). Driver was super chatty - which makes the time fly and he was really good at packing the van. Mum is now safely moved back to the UK!

    Cheers again!

  • Any men with vans and muscles? I'm moving flat in east London this coming weekend and would rather not brave gumtree etc.

  • Film/video editor with Premiere/Final Cut with Chinese/English translation and subtitling skills.

Documentaries and adverts but open to other types.

    PM me for details.

  • Currently trying to sort out a problem with Sweaty/Ollie whose firm I utilised to move flat a couple of weeks ago.

Basically overpaid the blokes by £100 on the day and have been trying to get it back to no avail. Personally texted and phoned the specific delivery man who agreed I had overpaid him and stated he would return the money but has not done so. Multiple PM's and emails to Sweaty/Ollie have gone un-answered.

Perhaps it's the holiday season, but still - £100 is a lot to me.

It's been two weeks since the move.

  • i send u a PM

  • Any employment solicitors about who could deal with...

working unpayed, working without liability insurance, being TUPE'd to a company who then refuses to employ you, generally being fucked about ect

Shit is really within fans reach and want to get advice before I do something I shouldn't.

  • What field do you work in?

Shoosh has given sound job advice to many here, though she is not a lawyer.

Facility management+front of house for some offices.

Might drop Shoosh a pm but as it currently stands they didn't pay the 2nd half of jans pay(everything from the sign over date) and have little/no intention of paying febs while giving me fuck all in writing to even say I am employed(even when asked for it). Can't see it going many ways that won't involve needing someone legal to do whatever it is they do.

I'm not as sweary in work. It helps to vent.

  • Thanks for the recommendation. I do all career related matters except the legal ones. Your best bet is to phone ACAS tomorrow morning or a Citizens Advice Bureau if there isn't someone who does employment law on here.

Would it be ok to still shoot you a pm? You might see something really obviously good that could just diffuse the entire situation or truely awful.

  • Sure.

  • Sure.

Thanks. If it's all a bit too much just say and it's cool.

  • Looking for someone who has experience in putting up a heavy 4' x 8' wooden panel (which will act as a mount with four hooks for bikes) onto plaster walls. Needs to be someone who works full-time as a builder, with experience of working with plaster and expanding drywall anchors, not just a DIY enthusiast. Any recommendations?

  • Does anybody on here have the skillz and resources to fix/replace a broken window hinge? Double glazing type, outward-opening.

Is the frame PVC, metal or other? Is it fucked like take off the old one and put on a new one or really fucked like need to redrill the holes for screws?

Not something I would do but I know some it's a simple swap then a little bit to align things like hanging a door/window and others it's near impossible.

  • I need (paid) help with same thing as well !! I'll take pics and post on the thread ..

The frame is PVC and I have no idea how fucked it is as I'm not strong enough to open it enough to check. The window sags on the top hinge but it only opens about a quarter of the way which makes it tricky to assess the damage. Doesn't really help that it's on the first floor so if I did open it and dropped it then it'd go smashing down onto the ground several feet below D:

  • Its not pvcU (or what ever it is today) it is aluminum. Unles they have been changed in the last year.

Look on the edge of the runners at the side, will look like one of these http://www.screwfix.com/c/ironmongery-security/window-hinges/cat841002 these will be screwed in, or rivitted.

  • Does anyone want to spend a few hours on Saturday driving a van for me? You dont have to drive very far and I will even pay you poorly!

  • ^Im moving flat, so just furniture and boxes of clothes/random junk

  • What will be in the van?

    didn't ask, don't know, can't tell.

  • Has anyone know if any jobs? I really need one, have been looking for work for the past month and can't seem to find anything I have 6 years retail experience a degree apparantly I'm very useful making things, going to try and hand my cv out again.

  • R coders, anyone?

  • Are there any forum carpet fitters?
