Yes I have grassed up drivers on their mobile phone, they can kill someone.

i'd rep you if the version3 beta forum would let me.. but lets not go there..
I see toss pots swerving all over the place every day on their route in due to complete lack of concentration. you can spot them a mile off. if i ever caught a copper near by i'd do the same, as it stands i ride at them to wake them up. probably not the best route but its a start

to be honest, it might not be such a bad thing if there was no distinction...there is nothing worse than being stuck on the bus or train with some idiot shouting mind numbing rubbish into their phone for the whole journey...haha.
then again, i am incapable of standing still at all, particularly when i am talking on the phone, so i would be in trouble...heh.
Sadly the technology to stop idiots from using mobile phones hasn't yet been invented.*
*actually it has but the use of nuclear weapons is very much frowned upon in polite society.

People really are amazing stupid about this. Last summer I was overtaken on the Embankment by a guy in a convertible fucking Ferrari with the top down and an incredibly small penis. Did he really, really think no one would notice?
I'm glad to report that he got about 200 yards past me, blithely overtook a moto-plod and got yanked.

I've done the same thing. Motor bike Policeman stopped to have a word with a driver on the approach to Albert Bridge and then rode on, I was well behind. Caught up and passed the car and the driver's on the phone, so I caught the Policeman halfway across the bridge. "Did you just talk to the guy using a cell phone back there in the green Jaguar?" I said. "Yes, I told him to put it away." Says he.
"Well he's back on the phone now."
"Oh is he?" - he then puts on his lights, does a U-turn and goes back up the road. I could just see the Jag driver's face, it was an absolute picture. -

Some mobile phones already have motion sensors in them. However, how do you distinguish between movement in a car and movement such as walking, travelling on a bus or on a train?
Or if you are merely a passenger in a car?

Would you point out another cyclist using a mobile phone? I see plenty of them; often wearing helmets too. God knows what they think they've got in their skull that's worth protecting.

Bah, I just drive into them with my taxi.

This probably winds me up more than anything else. Banged on the window of a bird talking on the phone once, she dropped it instantly as she assumed I was a copper. When she looked to see that I was just some gimp on a bike she picked the fucker back up and started chatting again.
Fucks sake.
maybe ditch the rubber?

Fuck's sake, you shouldn't grass on people, especially for something like that.
A brick through the window usually sorts the problem.

Someone at work thought he was giving me a useful 'tip' by describing how if you want/need to park up your car anywhere ( e.g. double yellow lines) just get your phone out and pretend your are using it because it rang and you just had to stop driving because its 'against the law' ...
no mate :l

I dunno how people can mult-task, riding with one hand, keep pedalling and texting (which I find a nightmare to do, I hate using mobile phones)/or having a conversation.
I had a cyclist friend in southampton that got hit several times by a car, I never had been out with him, cycled to the pub once and immediately realized why he had such bad luck, he was creating it himself...
Texting while riding on the pavement, no signals, no lights and regularly RLJ. I told him in the pub he was a fucking idiot. The next day he I saw him texting while riding on the pavement at about 12 by the main uni campus, he hit a girl, luckily she wasn't hurt, but her boyfriend smacked him in the face.
If someone calls me on my bike, I pull off the road and then take the call.

Lucas - your friend is truly an idiot.

i wouldn't hesitate to do the same. same goes for any other obvious traffic infringement RLJ on ped crossings, cars in bus lanes, motorists pulling out on you etc.

Well I use the term friend there loosely, he was a guy that lived in the same halls block as me, luckily I don't see that idiot anymore.

This morning, i saw an officer of the law standing with his bike by the side of the road. I quickly had a look round to see if there was anyone on the phone that I could grass up.
There wasn't.
Christ that is dull. WAC.

I had a moment with a member of the flying squad this morning - in an unmarked new grey vauxhall on South Lambeth Road - he was using the siren to intimidate other car / van drivers through the junctions and then sitting in the ASL boxes at the lights. I didn't realise he was a copper before I'd tapped on his window and asked him what make of bike he was riding.
Snowy Fail - more intimidation and vague threats from him. I might go and take a wander around their car park later to see if I can get his license plate.

One time I was on a bus(shock horror I know!) and it was packed, I am very big(15st 6'2") so it was incredibly uncomfortable for me standing in the crowd....Then one Indian guy takes out his phone and makes a video call!
Him and his mate sitting beside eachother begin shouting at the phone as the person on the end of the line shouts back having a full conversation with eachother for about 10-20 mins.
I HATE BUSSES!:O -

On the motorway one day, mate was driving. This cock in a Bentley overtakes us in the fast lane. Then he slows right down so we draw level with him. He then gets our attention by holding up a porn mag in the passenger side window! He carried on down the fast lane doing this to everyone. I mean, what the fuck was that about. I assumed that he was probably a footballer. Funny thing was, a police car went flying down a few moments later, and I was hoping it was to nick him. But it turned out a car was on fire a few miles further down and we were stuck in traffic for a while. What a cock
