People are tagging pretty rashly.

• #132
they should stop making such rash decisions!

I hear that one of the best ways of destroying your bike is to rash it.
-
• #134
you can also get a good case of road rash when rashing your bike...

Well I can now add sugino messenger crank arms and a BB to the tally of busted parts :(, the bb's not totalled yet but the crank arms are slippin all over the place, oh joy!
-
• #136
Nice one James. Have you been running them loose or something? Rookie error!
-
• #137
No ignore that post, I was just being a drama queen, it was only a loose lockring lol.
-
• #138
Oh the BB is still nearly dead, but the crank arms are fine^
-
• #139
You have a lockring on your bb? How old is it?!
-
• #140
Nah as in the BB bearings lol, the bearings are shot to shit, creak like a mofo and barely spin.

£15 sorted!

I hesitate to spend money on it though when I just want to get some bmx cranks soon.....when I have money lol.

Make sure you meet CrazyJames soon. It sounds as if it could be the beginning of a wonderful friendship.

I'm not really 'suggesting' anything. It's more like crashing into it full bore. ;)

Just to keep the thread going I thought I'd break my fiancees bike last night...
...as per usual I was fixing it to try and keep it going for another month (it's an old bike that we've spent absolutely no money on whatsoever in about 10 years!) I was tightening up the rear brake when the plastic sheathing around the spring decided to fire itself at me in as many pieces as possible. So she now has no bike until I can find a spare brake - again, we will spend no money on this bike!

I decided to try go down a VERY steep hill brakeless using a 78.6 gear inch ratio(only been riding brakeless for 2 weeks)
I suddenly realised how much gravity was beating me so I had to steer and myself off the only piece of flat road into a wire fence, hurt a lot!
It could of gone a lot worse, dusted myself and my ego off, walked down the rest of the hill.
At the bottom of the hill I tried to ride off, my nice chrome forks where bent beyond belief from nice curves to straight forks, nice clearance, but too much toe overlap to ride
When I got home I also noticed I had bent the frame.
What a day:D
