cool! I used to spend hours making 'choons' on octamed on the Amiga in my youth!
there was a shop in town that sold discs with samples on.

Literally the opposite of rave
"Renaissance was started by Geoff Oakes at Venue 44 in Mansfield, England in 1992. Renaissance was Geoff Oakes' antidote to the sci-fi imagery and dressed down clubbers of the 'rave' scene."

Hmmmmm. Ok. This kind of misses the main reason it was a huge thing but you know that right. I actually posted the wrong tune. https://youtu.be/lO2-SEcP0eI

Name that tune....
So this song has been plaguing me for years. Even my girlfriend will go around yelling the few lyrics, and she's never even heard the song. But I can't for the life of me figure out the title and artist of the song, nor do I have the song. I just remember the few simple lyrics that were part of the song. It's old school, and from what I was listening to at the time my guess is probably house, techno, or tech house. So here are the lyrics.
"Yeah, alright" - repeated
in the breakdown - "All right, all right"My expectations are low, but if anyone has any idea I will be so f*ing grateful.

I liked it but was a bit disappointed. Thought the concept was interesting but was hampered by its own format. The pharmaceutical side can't really be skipped over even if trying to contextualise things for a young audience - I thought it copped out.
