Thanks for all the pie suggestions everyone! We ended up getting a steak and ale pie at a pub near home as we were both knackered, but will definitely keep the list for next time.

Can anyone recommend a good Indian restaurant in or very near the city of London? Have a visitor from America over. Was thinking maybe Dishoom (Shoreditch) but happy to have some options.

Tayyabs is Punjabi and decent, but you're treated a bit like cattle there and the prices seem to have gone up as the portion sizes have decreased. Lahore Kebab House and Needoo Grill nearby are other good Punjabi/Pakistani places nearby. They're all a bit 'no frills' but still delicious.

I'd be interested in the recommendations on this. Sophies was ok in Covent Garden and marginally more affordable than Gaucho etc.

The place on Exmouth Market. It's Italian. It's incredible.
You Google. I'm lazy.

going to the football tomorrow at wembley, 12.30 kick off, and the need to be there an hour or so beforehand, means I'm looking for a place that does a good breakfast/brunch, hopefully aligned with decent coffee willesden green/kilburn sides.
Any suggestions? -

Cheers all, we were staying conveniently close to Au Passage, Les Enfants Perdus and Liberte so went to all of those.
Great confit de canard for lunch at Les Enfants Perdus and very impressed by Au Passage.
Had looked at Septime before we went out but booking seems impossible.

Nice pubs with a good roast in central for tomorrow? (Not Blacklock/Hawksmoor etc)
-
• #849
Not in central but Aside in Peckham is supposed to do an excellent roast. That’s probably really not helpful
