  • cool will skip it. Was at dinner by Heston last week, actually thought the ribs were underwhelming. Tipsy cake was good.

  • Any recommendations for somewhere in/near the city to take 2 lady clients?
been to duck & waffle, modern pantry in the past.

  • Smoking Goat in Soho. I'm biased for sure as a friend is responsible for it, but you won't be disappointed. Check out @smokinggoatsoho on Insta @Joeboat!

  • looks nice, thanks. might be a bit far out of the area for them

  • How about up the Oxo Tower?

  • I quite like Bread St Kitchen the couple of times I have been there.
There's always St Johns too...either one but I like the Smithfield one better.

  • In other news the wife took me to Hibiscus - it was rad. Inventive and super tasty food served by welcoming and charming staff. 5/5 would eat again.

  • Bread st looks perfect, cheers

  • Just ate the best lunch I think I've ever had at 'Marcus'. I see why it has two Michelin stars, impeccable from start to finish. Unnerving sommelier but I think that comes with the job. Winter tasting menu...

  • Mmmmmm.want.

  • Business lunch this Monday in Farringdon/Smithfields/Barbican/Goswell Road area.

Was thinking of something like Vinoteca.

Anyone know of anywhere similar, or with lunch deals on a Monday in the area?

  • Hix
    St John
    Foxlow spring to mind...

  • Thanks Mands, ended up at Vinoteca. £28 a head, 50% off all wine on Mondays. Would recommend it.

Next! Anyone know a decent cocktail bar near Brick Lane?

  • Had a fantastic meal at sketch last week in the gallery restaurant.
Spent £60, 2 courses and 3 drinks each
still a bit of time left on this offer too:

  • Anyone here been to Kitty Fisher's yet? Worth it/hard to get in? Thinking about booking for mid-April...

  • qualidee chumphouse booked for Mrs Hell's trip-around-the-sun day celebretants. hopefully it doesn't suck.

  • Anyone got any tips for SE places to eat?

  • In Se1 I've found Antico at the bottom of Bermondsey Street, is the pick of the street in my opinion. Casse-Croute runs it close mind.

The Rose on Snowsfields is great for roasts etc and if you want to go properly bonkers go to Story.

  • Like Thai food? You've not got long to eat at Som Saa, as I reckon soon they'll be moving to another place. Amazing food.

    Guardian gave it 10/10.

  • Thanks Ecobeard. Was referring to South East London rather than SE1. On the lookout for anything new round my way. Totally bored of dudefood.

Will probably end up in Brockley's Rock, our local and brilliant fish n chips joint. Turns out family can't get out if the house early enough to go further afield.

  • SE15's got some great places, first and foremost of which is Peckham Bazaar.
Following that, in no particular order: Peckham Resfreshment, Pedlar, Ganapati, Artusi, Miss Tapas, The Begging Bowl.

  • We had one great and then one average meal in Babur near Honor Oak (Indian food), worth a punt.

  • Any suggestions for a place to grab a pre-cinema snack in central London (Piccadilly or not too far) that won't be busy on a Friday evening? (I appreciate this may be an impossible ask but need somewhere to take my parents who live in a sleepy corner of Devon and have bafflingly decided to stay in central London despite being scared of crowds.)
