Up to Nottingham for 2 nights in a few weeks. Want to take my (student) brother out for a nice meal, but not Alchemilla nice!
Any recommendations for £60-70 pp?

Looking to book a birthday dinner for next month. Anywhere of note around East for a tasting menu, £50-70pp? Done Pidgin twice so leaving that one alone. Noticed a place called Rogues on Hackney Road; general reviews etc seem to be quite good

I come again, cap in hand, looking for help.
I am going to Amsterdam this weekend for a gig and I would love a couple of recommendations. No specific cuisine, just anywhere you've been and had a meal that you really enjoyed (rather than thinking it was just pretty good).

L'antica Pizzeria Da Michele now have a branch in Amsterdam, leoparding was great but they haven't really considered that plopping a wet burrata onto a pizza will make the base a bit soggy. Also my fault for not considering that myself. Mildly disappointing, stick to the classic marg or marinara.
Cocino Rosario was really fucking good however, this is tacos suaderos with a big bit of bone marrow to accompany it which made it deliciously rich without making me feel unwell.

So good, you're in for a treat. The beef fat fudge (if you are that way aligned) is the chef's kiss at the end of a very good meal!

Cross posting from the New York thread as I suspect it doesn't get much traffic..
I'm off to Vermont for a week in July followed by a week in NYC, staying in Brooklyn. Has anyone got a recent list of New York food places (I'm vegan, my wife isn't, so all options welcome). Not fancy pants $$$ places, bonus points for mom and pop style spots.

What @amey said, a quirky curveball might be Indian Veg on Chapel Market.
Cheap and cheerful with plentiful decent pub options nearby. Vegetarian propaganda lines the walls, also BYO.

Indian Veg on Chapel Market.
I actually havent been here, I want to!

It's slightly crazy and unfancy (some tables have giant posters proclaiming VEGETARIANS LIVE LONGER AND ARE BETTER LOVERS or words to that effect above them) but it's still insanely good value.

A couple that I remember that haven't shut down
https://nishidasho-ten.com/ and https://www.tottoramen.com/midtown-east - for ramen if you want decent, cheap food.If you weren't aware, menu prices are pre-tax (about 10%) and tips (15%-20%).

I knew about 20% tips, I haven't been to NYC before so wasn't sure what the sales tax was so that's helpful,ta.
I must try their sweet stuff. I’ve had a cheese and ham croissant and steak and Stilton pasty and both were the best I’ve had.
