  • Jealous. I used to live right around the corner and try to find any excuse to go back.

  • I'll be ordering the penang for you. Not sure if that makes it better or worse 🤣

  • I've got to go upto Birmingham next week, staying overnight, where's good to eat centrally, never spent much time there so have no idea where the good spots are.
Not too pricey, but accommodating to the lone diner.

    Thanks

  • If you don't mind getting the tram (less than 20 mins from Birmingham New Street), The Vine in West Bromwich is where I'm at every Albion home game.

Massive indoor tandoori bbq and excellent curries. Just had a tart up so it's a nice place to eat.

Goat curry and bullet naan are highly recommended.

  • thanks for that, not the biggest fan of curries, but could give it a go.

  • I mean it's definitely not fancy and the ambiance is only a little better than what you'd expect for a pub on the corner of an industrial park but the food bangs.

You could just go with Ivy Garden in the city centre though. Predictably good if safe.

  • not the biggest fan of curries

    same!

  • 25th November I might see you there.

  • 👀

  • I’ve got a load of Ipswich fans coming already. Join us.

Drop me a pm closer to the time.

  • Had an excellent lunch at The Baring last week - highly recommended.

  • Friend's come over from denmark, and is staying out by dalston lane, any recommends for decent restaurants round those sides, not too pricey, okay with walk ups, let me know.

  • Pidgin and my neighbour the dumpling both pretty great

  • Recommended roast SE? Bellingham, Beckenham, Penge way?

  • Little Duck - Picklery
    Corrochios
    Oren
    House of Momo
    Hai Cafe
    Bun Bun Bun

  • I went to Acme Fire Cult recently and I can't remember the last meal/dining experience I've had like it. Incredible food which paired with a pretty amazing space well off the main road and beers from the adjoining 40ft Brewery resulted in 'vibes'. Perfect for entertaining guests!

  • Mangal 1 on Arcola Street for proper Turkish food: http://mangal1.com/

  • Thanks for all the suggestions.

  • Ended up booking a table at acme fire cult, had a good time, the ox cheek was delicious, was a bit peeved, that despite telling them I was allergic to nuts, starter still came out with a sprinkling of pistachios.
Apart from that was super enjoyable, would recommend.
Did remind me of that episode of chefs table about the australian (I think) chef who only
    Oils over open flames.

  • Anyone got any recommendations for Copenhagen?

    Doesn’t need to be fancy.

  • Any where better than the Radar Krishna Bavan for a curry , Tooting / Wimbledon way? The Lahore by the market any good?

Nephew from the States who likes hot food is visiting so probably RKB and somewhere Korean over New Malden Way pencilled in for him.

  • Do you know where you’ll be staying/visiting? Have a friend over there so will ask.

  • CPH loins reccos

Baest is the third restaurant from Christian publishing. Relae was one of my favourite ever places I ate. This is different but awesome.
Isted grill & Kebabistan - a few doors apart but worth a visit after one too many scoops. The grease will sort you out.
Surt - think best pizza in CPH
Jatak - I haven’t been but it’s on my list and I know ppl who have and say it’s great
Iluka - great modern seafood restaurant with a changing menu
Gasoline grill - very good burgers
Omar - good wine and food
    Warpigs brewpub
    Various Mikeller bars
    Pompette - natty wine bar
Ancestrale - another vibesy wine bar

Propaganda - newish Korean gaff that people go wild for. Not been but heard good things.

Cub coffee, prolog coffee, minas kaffebar, Sonny coffee and Rapha coffee (obvs)

  • I found out there's a Popeyes kitchen just off OKR in New Cross this week.

Woolwich was far enough away to keep me on the straight and narrow as they don't deliver here but right there on my way home is too much. Pity they don't do chicken itself just burgers and tenders.

  • Awesome. Thanks Joe

Thanks also @cornelius_blackfoot - only just seen your reply.

It’s for a friend who’s visiting this weekend so I’ve passed them on. Jealous of them now with that list 😅
