Murtle, I jfgi'd it:
Riding style
Bahamontes was a talented climber but a poor descender, sometimes taking one foot off the pedal to take mountain bends like a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedway rider. He landed in a cactus bush descending the Montserra as an amateur and thereafter refused to descend mountains alone, once waiting at the top of a col in the Tour de France for other riders to arrive.
He was also temperamental, throwing his bike down a ravine to stop any pressure to continue riding when he dropped out of the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1956_Tour_de_France, left him without support. He held on to his bike but took off his shoes.Sounds about right. Well the down hill bit at least.

Strip from a plastic milk bottle works well for big rips, otherwise old bits of tyre or inner tube stuck over gap and works. You used to get a small peace of hessian type material in puncture repair kits just for the job.

Yes, I probably should have but Stelle told me that it had been cancelled due to bad weather. (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it)
Oi!

Sorry, confusing my terms. Any superglue repair will disappear over time if it's exposed to wet conditions.
I've tried it before on brand new tyres with cuts in and it temporarily postpones the binning of the tyre.
I am with Andy there. under the pressures it doesn't hold up. its alright for messing about but i wouldn't use it for long rides.
Go on Jim splash out!

Yo
I did a search and nothing relevant seemed to come up. I have a larger than normal cut in my tyre (from a bit of glass) that is big & deep enough to expose the inner tube.
Previously, I just took out the shard and re fitted the tyre. However, the inner tube has been penetrated again causing a slow puncture.
Now other than this hole, the tyre is not worn out at all. Has anyone ever just superglued holes back together - and if so, to what level of success?
I really don't think it's time to spend out on a new rear tyre...
Lemme no
Jim / Mouse
I had a massive gash in a new tyre and stuck a piece of fibre glass in the tyre where there gash was and pumped it up, lasted months. Nice massive bulge in tyre, but then again it was for my beater which is bodge central. Anything plasticy (and durable) and few mm thick will work.
If it is for a nice bike, get a new tyre, and use it on a beater (with aforementioned bodge).
Totally downhill..
