  • Thats what I said to the people at Masi, Haro and Moorelarge. They didn't care.

  • I think it's because there's no need, also I feel it's the same reason why the GT Gutterball isn't sold here; because of the Charge Plug (own by the same company).

  • Masi's new bikes page, with given weights, and auto-changing colours.

                                                                                                                                                                                                           **Speciale Fixed Drop** US MSRP: $785

    ** Here’s the perfect bike for no-handed skids,** weekend bike polo tournaments, ripping through the city streets, or perfecting your pedal stroke over the winter. The Speciale Fixed does it all and does it with style and a smile. Now more than ever, the Fixed is about options and not limitations thanks to the addition of a riser handlebar option. Come learn about the endless possibilities of one gear; you won’t regret it.
    lol.

    I wish they would focus on making some nice bikes, instead of creating the garish "fixies" we like to to keep in the anti-porn section.

    This is a fixie:

    So is this:

    Masi have so much potential, such a great name and quality frames.

    But why all this Oury, DeepV, white chain, messenger cranks, garish OTT colourschemes, fugly drops, hybrid geometry shit?

    POC.

  • I agree a lot of their complete bikes look shit. The special spint and coltello look great though

  • I think it's because there's no need, also I feel it's the same reason why the GT Gutterball isn't sold here; because of the Charge Plug (own by the same company).

    why the fuck would you want one? It's a top tube short of being proper pengy.

  • Why cant they make something of this standard?

  • cos they're not italian anymore

  • Masi moved to california in 1972. The red bike is a 1978 gran criterium (as featured in braking away).

  • Tim Jackson left us hanging :(

  • So is this:

    POC.

    what I hate about it is that it look more;

    than;

    The Bianchi, even though it's overpriced and not quite pretty, still is the best looking OTP that managed to look a bit classic despite the ahead stem, fork, tig weld, etc.

  • Why cant they make something of this standard?

    something like this 2010 Wilier then?

  • will any bike manufacuter ever get it consistantly right again?

  • Condor did with their classic road and track bike.

  • its very subjective whether or not something is right anyway. tbh who gives a shit if people are making bad looking bikes? it makes it more of a challenge to find something that is nice (to you)

  • I think the Condor Classico pista is the best example of a modern steel track bike I have seen. It is as perfect as I could imagine, and pretty fucken sexy.

    I think the willier there is trying to hard to be retro, and the styling is strongly clashing with the components. I think a modern steel road bike needs to be styled to compliment the components.

    This happens well when they are going purely for function, just look at when steel bikes were still used in elite cycling. You had bikes and components that looked shit hot together.

    To see a sexy modern metal bike these days, you have to usually look at a titanium bike. Manufacturers seem to have the right mindset then, building a bike that has complimentary parts and an overall unified "look". It may be an accidental by product of following function/engineering. Who knows?

    But I actually think that salsa up there looks a lot better than the Masi lineup too. Because it seems more refined and not trying to be retro or be fixie-fad. It looks elegant and good to ride.

  • This is my Masi Fixed Drop, it should be returning from the US soon. It is just beautiful...
