Hey Dan. Can you order a set of Mavic Ellipse Clinchers at all?
That'd be cool if possible.\Cheers -
• #29
hey pistaboy. i'll ask one of the guys to see if we can get them on monday - i'm not in for a few days.
-
• #30
As ever my friend - quality.
Cheers mate - have a good few days off.
:) -
• #31
yeah, they're in stock. if you want them we need payment in advance. 380 quid retail, minus a little discount.
-
• #32
That's great Mr. WentSkiing.... ;)
Pay day arrives on Friday, so i may be up for getting some at the weekend.
Thanks for looking for me! -
• #33
Whoa.
They look like badboy wheels. Light as f--k no doubt. My mate has Mavic wheels like them (almost exactly the same hubs but with a 9sp freehub at the rear, bladed spokes) on his cannondale... which he paid 200 for
-
• #34
I should add that it's a nail, it has a loose bottom bracket, barely any brake pad, and the wheels could do with truing
-
• #35
if he they are low spoke modern wheels he should really sort that out quickly.
-
• #36
He knows. But he;s a lazy fucker

in today: charge plug £500, charge plug racer £560, charge plug freestyler £530. should all be built by tomorrow.
also, we now have powerlink b/bs to match our SRAM cranks, surly jethro tules, and tuggnuts.
in further news, i just got some nice expensive tyres, and much to my surprise, they feel so much nicer than cheap tat. roll faster, grip more, and damp vibrations better. i will never have sub £25 tyres again...
-
• #38
not powerlink - powerspline. eeeerrrgh
-
• #39
what tyres were they Dan?
-
• #40
charge plug £500, charge plug racer £560, charge plug freestyler £530.
Fuck me they've gone up- I paid £400 for mine last year. (Not to put anyone off OYB though, they've gone up everywhere)
-
• #41
yeah, loads have things have gone up, stupid weak pound type scenario apparently.
the tyres are 24mm continental grand prix something-or-others which retail around 28 quid. a nice german guy rolled into the shop and handed them over for free, singing the praises of the black chilli compound. i thought it was so much marketing nonsense, but i was certainly wrong. i just wish they weren't so tight on my rims - i've pinched a few tubes already, raising the net price from free to a fiver.
damn.
i also got my surly dingle cog and stainless chainring, so i'm now fully "geared up" for a) offroad blasts around earlswood, cannock, etc, and b) gentle cruises with the missus.
-
• #42
Thats cool mate. I could do with having a look at those conti's. Might look good on those deep v's you built me....
-
• #43
I wonder if the black chilli compound is just standard tyre rubber with added capsaicin?
-
• #44
mmmmmmm spicy.......

• #45
gp4000 are the dogs danglies. Gotta love 'em.
Where's OYB, is it central? I might have time to kill fri PM.
-
• #46
Mate - its at the bottom of my road - Bradford St.
If you've gotta kill some time, you're more than welcome to drop by for a brew before hand. Should be back home from work for half four...
PM me if you need to. -
• #47
cool, may just do that :)

just in: half of a delivery of miche stuff plus some nice chains:
primato hub sets, 32h, single-fixed. £55 off the top of my head
miche 1/8" chains £6.95!
a load of miche cogs with their nifty carrier system (1/8" and 3/32" available) - £13.50 each
(sorry, STILL no miche cranks. grrr)
however, we do have some absurdly glamorous KMC track/bmx chains - k710, hollow pins, machined plates GOLD: £42.99. SILVER: £26.99.
that is all
-
• #49

Is this OYB as in On Yer Bike Charminster Bournemouth, is there a London shop now?
Possibly some extraordinarily stupid questions, but I need answers...
how much for a 1" threaded headset and fitting? my steerer needs cutting....don't think i can do that at home as it may need more threads added..
