I went in yesterday and there was an old guy in there trying to buy "one of those new bikes with no brakes", he looked dead cool.
-
• #637
Fiddy?
-
• #638
i like it, very much.
so much so I bought a wheelset.
a shiny wheelset.
still wondering if I should have splashed out for the profile hubbed one, but don't think so as they aren't respaceable to 135mm.Also when i went in there yesterday, it seemed full at one point with mothers and fathers buying bikes for their kids, school age.
or certainly being asked to buy bikes.
now there's nothing wrong with that, but that's a lot of money to drop on a christmas present! -

Not being negative.. but went in here last week at Lunchtime on a weekday (Tuesday I think).. was in a suit. 2 guys behind the counter, 1 guy chatting to them.. walked around looking at all the bikes for about 5-10 minutes and nobody came over. Was looking for some friendly advice as i'm thinking of building a steel fixed gear and wanted to talk about cranks, bb's etc.
They could have done with being a bit more friendly/proactive, I walked up to BLB and was testing out a couple of bikes within 5 minutes.

Shame as the bikes looked really good!

was in the shop a week ago looking at some new brakes, spent 15mins looking at them with the staff looking at me.. I just wanted to give them my money & the same as jonk, went to BLB and magic in 5mins, got what i wanted.
so screw them, their stuff is way overpriced anyway -
• #644
Maybe it's because most people...me at least anyway hate being pounced on as soon as you get into a shop....if you want help why not just ask?
They get a lot of tyre kickers and time wasters in there. -

I don't know, it might be such a drastic suggestion, but how about walking toward them and do a simple "ah ahem" cough enough to demand their attention?
or even, *ask?

customer service is so important.
The people working there probably are unaware.
Just tell them, they wont mind learning. -

Which stuff?
Profile hubs way cheaper than most places...custom framesets for £450...pretty damn good.
Maybe be a bit more specific if you're gonna diss their pricing. -
• #648
Are they selling this new trick frame yet?
-
• #649
