Cyclocross - CX and SSCX races and training

I've signed up for the Madison cross, so yeah, since it would be hard for my races to get any worse I'm keen to race.

I did a fair amount of running in my Shimano shoes at the last race at Bodiam. I think the sidis might just be stiffer, and maybe not suited to me.

From what I saw of that course, maybe wellies?

I hope you managed to get home and get some beer and chips.

No spoilers, but that descent in Namur today has no place in any level of cyclocross and whoever decided to use it should be reprimanded by the UCI. Rider safety is paramount and they were lucky no-one was injured.

Namur was a great race. As a spectator that descent was very exciting but agree, too dangerous.

Course for the Belgian champs looks interesting...

I've an appointment at the fracture clinic at the PRU on Tuesday. Given the location of the breaks, they want an orthopaedic specialist to have a look at it.

I probably could've raced today but it didn't seem worth the risk of damaging it further.

I was trying to pass a back marker who either failed to hear my calls of “on your right” or confused left with right and accidentally closed the door on me as I attempted the pass. I ended up on the deck, he continued on his way.
