Kept cramping up then on the last half a lap the left calf completely knotted. Could barely remount and I was in total agony. Collapsed after the line and had a steward stretching me out. I can barely walk today such is the aftermath.
I miss all the fun

Ta. Herne Hill on Sunday is probably more doable.

Eastern is Saturday.
Do both.

After the Stanmer Park grass climb exposure, I've fitted an 11-34 on the back... Hopefully help me spin up some of those long drags, of which HH has none!
Expect there will be a fair few at Herne Hill on Sunday?

I wouldn't have thought so.

Yep, first race of the season. It's going to hurt.
My seven year old is making her London League debut too. Not sure how that is going to turn out.

Hah, awesome. She'll probably podium and win her entry fee back.

Eastern was a lot of fun today, enough rain to make to surface really slippery so the available line differed each lap. Lots of people sliding out on corners and cambers with the occasional bigger off on the tree routes and drop offs. As a result, not last.

I think this means that you're in Germany and the voluntary fire service were just busy removing fallen tree branches from the road when you came riding along, so you took a picture in order to post it without explaining what had happened. :) Correct me if any of these assumptions are wrong.
Delighted to see that there are satin communities in Germany.

Awesome women's race in Iowa. Looked like a brutal hilly course. Can't wait to see what happens in the men's.

London League chaps,
I'll be in a position to race October 29th in Brighton, this will be my only race with me being from north of the antonine wall... whats the deal with membership for the chips? can i just hand it back in after the race? Can i race without?
-
• #6470
I think you have to pay the affiliation/ chip fee. Which isn't great if you are only doing one race.
-
• #6471
It's not so much the cost i mind just the whole situation seems a tad pointless.
i'll just go for it, be asn experience. Happy Valley any views?

All the info on entry for the London League is available on their website;
http://www.londonxleague.co.uk/info/
Basically you have to pay the Β£10 registration fee for the timing chip and associated admin costs.
I've only ridden Happy Valley once, and it was a pretty unexciting experience. The venue is some playing fields and the course just did lots of hairpin loops around them, with a couple of slightly more challenging sections at either end. It may have changed though, this was five seasons ago I think.

Last season's course was like this. I guess I'm a bit weird for enjoying grass crits!

Suddenly I'm out

If you're staying in London Central League is at Bedfont Lakes near Heathrow. It's a new course but sounds more interesting than Happy Valley.
I think they just charge a Β£5 deposit for timing chips which is refundable after the race. Don't hold me to that though.
