Course has changed completely, lots of slippery mud bits now. Nieuwenhuis seems to not make any mistakes, big lead now in U23 race

So, Nieuwenhuis won by a margin. And who would have thought: no Belgians but one Spanish rider on the podium!

Van Aert did brilliantly to catch him in the first place though, and to keep going.

Mad to see all those riders all with fucked bikes stumbling across the line. That didn't look easy!

Any idea where they were picking those flats up? Van Aert seemed to take a very different, and slower, line down the off camber descent of doom, so I wonder if he was avoiding something there.

No, home with the family today. Course looked great from the photos.

I'm glad I've kept my powder dry, I'd have hated to embarrass the pros by turning up with my inside knowledge.

I think I brought half of it home with me

They managed to pack a lot into the space they used, muddy off cambers, steep drop offs and a mother of a hill to run up

Indeed that's what v Aert's team stated, bigger risk of hitting stones in the bottom line. Vd Haar said there were sharp stones in the puddles too and sometimes he didn't even feel any impact before flatting.

That elite woman's race was the most exciting bike race I've seen in a long time.

May not be on the scale of the world champs but congrats anyway to @Jon. for taking the London League honours this year, while the rest of us scratched our heads about why he would take the gears off a perfectly good bike.

Just read total number of flat tubs in Worlds at Bieles was 120(!)
