  • I miss the fun log! It's ace. I'm no. 66. Light blue Felt Breed.

  • given that this is what I've been doing for ten hours a day for the last 5 years you'd have thought I'd be pretty decent at it by now. Must up my commuter racing aggression levels.

perhaps I should just up my rad and spend many hours learning to do this instead:

    nightcross

Een 'extraatje' voor de cross ?

  • Watch the other vid from the series, the one where he is super excited to be teaching cross skills.

  • Set the rad dial to 11

  • Signed up for this Sunday - will probably take the train to and then ride back to SW

  • I meant to ask a while ago, how was the Tour of the Cornfields?

  • Had a family party in Belgium so ended up going there instead.
    Will try again next year.

  • Which league are you racing in this Sunday? All of them which have races on seem rather far away from London.

  • I suppose it is actually inside the M25 for a change.

Newbury might be easier for me to get to than Ilford though.

  • ride to Camden, overland to Stratford, central to Fairlop then ride to Redbridge

Kinda relies on the trains working.

  • Liverpool St to Goodmayes, then ride from there.

  • No bikes on central line between Stratford and Leyton.

  • Yep - but beyond Stratford they don't seem to care in my experience.

  • For anyone travelling by car, the North circ will be fucked up by the M11 junction so plan a bit of extra time in.

  • Where are we racing next week? Please someone tell me it's flat.

  • I've always enjoyed watching cx at Wakefield and I'm pleased to say I really enjoyed racing there. At this time of year it's a fast technical circuit combining flowing descents, very rooty tree sections, hunks of banking and a tough blast around a football field. SS certainly better suited to this than the flat Northallerton last week.

The CX Pros a marked improvement for tyres but I had them a bit too high so was bouncing hard off roots and stones. Also the bead popped out of the rim in the last couple of laps. Rubbed a bit but not enough to warrant a wheel change.

Still tooling around at the back but felt I did well on the running bank.

No fun log which I see as a grave ommision.

  • This was brutal and very very fun.

  • After riding that course all weekend I feel like I'd finally cracked it by the end. Shame I managed to fall in that mud whilst taking what I thought would be the safe option by running it first lap.

I picked up a slow puncture on one of my tubs yesterday and then tried to remove the non-removable valve core to put some sealant in. I've damaged the stem enough that it needs to be replaced. What's the procedure for reglueing a tyre? Pull tape off tyre, one more layer of glue on tyre and rim, tape on rim, more glue and I'm good to go?

  • That was not a course for a natural descender like yourself.

Good to see you and the long suffering Amanda. Thank her for the encouragement each lap, I needed it on some of them!

  • Anyone doing the 3 peaks next weekend? I'll be the one chilling at the back due to my inadequate preparation.

  • Not this year, my best result is 14th

    From last.

  • I'll be out there in my usual supporting role at the bottom of all three hills. Will have forum cap on so give me a shout as you go by if you see me. Am good for water top ups, minor mechanical repairs, snacks and a lift back if you/your bike is broken.

  • Awesome, I'll look for ya!

  • Anyone else having difficulty registering online for rd3?
