  • What. The. Hell?!

  • did you narrowly escape a falling tree??!!

  • Yes, guess I was lucky, that the tree missed me.

  • Epic fail / win thread >>>>>

  • Holy shit the trees are fighting back.

  • Fucking cyclists >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • @dimi3 @amey is selling something g that might suit.

  • Bloody hell, Dimi, glad you're all right.

  • Jesus H Christ! Glad you're okay, Dimi.

  • What the hell?? Were you out riding with Indra?!

Really glad you're ok Dimi, sounds like you've had a lucky escape even if the bike hasn't.

  • crikey Dimi. I saw that on insta and thought "how did he get that under there?"

    Glad you're ok mate.

  • When it happened I thought LOL - let's gram it. Was expecting the tree to be rotten throughout, very light and easy to lift, but it was a proper healthy, heavy tree, took me about 10 minutes with my dodgy shoulder to get it from underneath that tree. I blame squirrels or whoever made that trap.

  • Your shoulder ok now though? How did you make it fall? Too intense a skid?

  • It's almost a Wile E. Coyote style execution!

  • Tomorrow's xray will reveal it. The tree was in an angle, I cycled under it, something cracked and it fell. Somehow I managed to unclip and jump forward.

Close escape. You've now officially been pre-disastered.

  • That'll buff out.

  • Tried the cyclopark training session last night. Thought it was excellent and can see what a advantage it would give you in races were you able to attend consistently.

Just don't go expecting them to be low intensity because it's a skill session. Skills are apparently to be practised at full pelt at all times.

  • ouch

  • Anyone racing in Brighton on Sunday? Hopefully with all this rain, the course might be a bit more tricky!

  • Yesterday's National Trophy was pretty exciting stuff.

Ian Field in a dominating performance in the Seniors/Elites. One of the Commisaires made a claim that he broke a sweat towards the end but I suspect this was just a malicious rumour. The battle for second between Liam Killeen and Jody Crawforth was pretty epic with a lot of trading of places. The finishing straight was a bit short for an all out finish so Liam won simply by getting round the last corner first but still very close.

Quite a ragged fight at the front of the Junior Men as well. A combination of the first round after some of the field have moved up a category and a fast, flat and dry course. Junior Women formed into a four horse race just at the end. The fifth woman in the leading group Isla Rowntree slipping back with only a lap and a half to go. However, despite not getting to the podium, Isla's was still the standout performance for me. When your competition is very well trained and coached and less than half your age, working at the front and keeping contact for so long is a very impressive feat. Always good to watch a talent like that in action.

I reckon we're on for the series to be pretty interesting going on from here so would strongly advise getting down to Portsmouth to see the next round. That is, if you aren't taking part.

  • I thought the next round was at Southampton?

One day, but not this season, I'll enter a National Trophy round. I'll get my arse handed to me on a plate, but reckon it'll be a fun experience.
