Only problem with the senior race is it's had countless other races over the course first.
So there that top layer is chewed to fuck..
So even a little bit of moisture and things become very slick.I'm almost definitely running Limus, and will just suffer some watts lost to gain the grip elsewhere.
Grip really needed on the big drop off -

You'll be on slicks then ๐

The sunshine will dry the course over the day though.

Love the optimism!

I'm going to take the wheels with the Terreno Drys on with me, just in case.

I rode into a puddle that day and my front wheel disappeared into the mud, whilst I gracefully executed a somersault and landed on my arse.

Lolol.
I did the same thing on the drop of doom on the first lap.
OTB with a few others piling into the back or me -

Hahaha excited and nervous in equal measures

What bike are you on? And cat?
-
• #10166
@GrantMontie for the win today. I can smell it in the air
-
• #10167
Be thankful. That year, it was compulsory to ride the descent to Toilet Corner side saddle

Green bike, โunt wheels, Dulwich jersey.
Racing in the seniors, starting at the back.
Hoping to ride in a forwards direction, will likely be going a bit sideways as well.

The bike looks good, which is always an excellent start. Good luck!

Good to meet you how did you go?
-
• #10171
I'm absolutely fucked, but great fun.
I ended up having to ride for 1 hour 15, was more expecting 45-50ish minutes.@GrantMontie, you were flying mate.

Quite literally at times... Crashed 5 times
Made it up to 3rd place senior 3 separate times and crashed my way back to 5th all 3 times ๐๐๐

• #10173
If you donโt crash youโre not trying hard enough

Also running such long race time means that you you'd like have started your last lap seconds before the winner finished.
So you'd have had to do an extra lap.And looking at the results, I think you were literally the last person to not go 2 laps down.
Which is great! -

Think I saw @GoatandTricycle driving away from the venue as I was doing a pre-race warm up on the road.
Rode singlespeed today, on 38x19, and don't think it held me back at all. I couldn't quite manage to ride Tullett's turret, but neither could most of the old gits I was racing against.
Yeah, the 2018 race was properly grim.
Most courses are grim in December as the ground retains more water. The early season races usually avoid the thick mud unless we have a very wet summer. It's been very dry this autumn so I don't think Somerhill will cut up too much, even with the rain we've had the past few days.
