I'm having the shittest day of my life at work today, so cannot wait for this tonight.
By the way, happy birthday Scarlett!

I'm bailin' y'all. Finishing work a bit too late to be able to get my shit together and make it on time. Probably for the best seeing as I'm not properly comfortable with my clipless setup yet. Also, after talking to Shoots and Ved outside 14 last week, I'm not entirely convinced I'm cut out for this one. I'm such a pussy. If the next one is easier (totally subjective, I know) and I'm more used to the new pedals I hope to be riding with y'all.
Have fun those of you who are still definitely on for this.

The Fly That Dropped...
Stand By for THE most shittest excuse ever.
Was just having a stretch about to head for a carb-filled lunch, when ping... no not the waist band on my trousers, but a small muscle in the top of back. Now, moving my head from side to side hurts.
If this doesn't ease in the next few hours... I too will be backing out. FUCK! Fuck, Fucking FUCK...
I retract what I posted earlier in the birthday thread BMMF... spoke way too soon. Will keep u updated.
Owwwww...

Fingers crossed, shootthebreeze - but not if that means pulling a muscle in your wrist ;)
My body started falling to pieces before I even hit 20. I gave up stretching at 30 because I sustained too many injuries as a result (true).

wools. no worries dude. break those shoes in. put a few miles in and see if you feel like the cleat is in the right position. come out in two weeks time - it's the Roydon one and is, i think, the best introduction to the TNRC.
shoots. easy there dude. no heroics you hear. your SKHA is beyond annulment.

Hahaha... stop that... it's making it hurt,
but thanks for the sentiment.

Now if I could just get a coupla hrs with a coupla a masseurs...insert gag here -

Bad luck, shoots.
-
• #686
Tough break, Shoots. Hope the pain eases up before the ride!
-
• #687
i still think riding is the best way to loosen up those pulled muscles!!! shove a couple of supposetories up your ass and crack on shoots ;)
see the remainder down there.

Ha ha... That your answer to everything is it Tim?
You bring the SP's and i'll do the rest...It's easing a little, but it still hurts to turn my head.
Another hour, and then i'll call it. -

Another great ride in excellent company. Big thanks to Sam for putting in the leg work (and pruning) to create such an excellent route. We decided on the train back that he should be the first recipient of the Hugo Koblet Pedaller of Charm award. Wear it with pride Sam, it was well earned.
Thanks to all the other riders for a great evening, especially BMMF for the pleasant ride down from Beckenham to St Mary Cray.
I've only one criticism of the evening, I didn't get a pint at one of the many fine public houses we passed. Next time we will stop!

Bleurgh - headwind :(
70 birthday miles in the musette. Thanks to andyp and purple_mj for the escorts on part of each leg.
Great route, Sam. A pint would've been nice, but I've got my single malt (Ardbeg) now, so whatever.
