nice one sam, will be good to see you out there dude

I will be joining you for these rides in the near future. I am just nursing an injury at the moment caused by too much hill work in too big a gear in too cold a weather.
Should be fine in about 3-4 weeks though. Jonny, would I be ok on about 72"?
-
• #33
mike, you would be fine on that gear dude. long leg-sapping drags rather than steep impossible ones. i would say most would be happier on like 68/69, but you sir, will have no probs on that.
heal well man.

I'll definitely get out and join you on one of these rides soon jonny. Need to get a few more (easier) miles under the belt first.
Looking forward to many long rides this year.

Would like to make it, lights not that great though (usual catseye types...) can I just follow and use the light from others?
I only live 10 miles from effingham junction... so might cycle home depending on how fast you guys go...?
(I guess cycling there would be silly? I recon I could make it to effingham for 8 easy, although it would mean I'd have done about a 90 mile day.... hmmm)

dude, it is a very good idea to buy or get hold of some decent lights. the condition of some of the roads is pretty poor at the moment and relying on other lights is too risky for yourself and other riders. put the word out on the forum to see if you can borrow some. you need a powerful front light but ordinary rear lights are fine.
that is not to say that you aren't more than welcome on the ride. look forward to seeing youmessage to everyone: lights lights lights
when we get closer to the day i'll sort out phone numbers etc

(also going on too many rides for the other half so the one's I'm least prepared for are probably the best to drop :-)

Cheers Jonny, will be a regular on these for sure once I am 100% again

lebowski - i know you have been off the bike for a month, but you are strong enough dude
knornight - be good to see you out there dude but have to concur with clintsmoker. lights. that freeze cut the road up a bit. these night rides are awesome. but more so for zero casualties to date.

Waiting to get an official statement regarding my leave entitlement, and will then have to see if booking time off one of my evening shifts to facilitate a bike ride is going to be majorly (© Sean Kelly) frowned upon on the home front.
Hopefully join you lot sometime soon...
oliver, you will be fine out there. clintsmoker and i enjoyed a really excellent, just somewhat careful ride. his notes i think are intended to suspend the idea of being out there in the black pitch of night. ride tomorrow. enjoy those lines. be careful in the dips and shadows.
it's early season and noone needs to be breaking any land speed records. or any bones and shit.
