@andyp - I think it's in Beds :D
'Little Switzerland / The Little Alps' is between Cuffley and Hertford - much closer to London than this ride. As mentioned before, the area features heavily in the North Road Hardriders TT, which I managed on 81" fixed, and someone much faster and stronger managed on 90" (Pnut Arnold).

Yeah there are a few climbs in Hertfordshire.

I wish I could come along on the ride but I'm out of TNRC until I can afford a proper front light. Should be in September when I return from Japan.

Cheers for that. I managed to find a map of that route and it goes from Potters bar, but to the right of Stevenage while this one goes up past it to the West.
There are some lovely roads in this area. Looks like a good route -

I'm impressed that BMMF has found a 100 metre climb in Hertfordshire. That must've taken some time to find.
Not for him. Climbs exercise a quasi-magnetic attraction on him, and he can tell by the strength of the feeling which way he has to turn.

Does anyone know of any good routes around the Epping area by any chance? Nothing harder than last nights ride I should add. I'm loving these longer rides and it would be a pity to lose this momentum seeing as I won't be there for the next one.

Roydon route would be good, no?!

I think Peter Carter and I are plotting about something in this direction, under the moniker 'ways to get out of East London' or something like that. Might happen in the autumn.

I'll go over the Roydon, Chelmsford and Southend routes this evening to see where I can pick routes up and take in a bit of Epping. Should anyone know of any particular roads with testing/honest hills then holla at me! :)

ADDITIONAL TRAIN INFO:
The train will most likely leave from platform 9b. This is one of a few 'extra' platforms, tucked away through an entrance half-way up the left side of platform 8.
Facing the direction of travel, the doors open at Finsbury Park on the left, but all stations thereafter open on the right (so shift bikes at that point). On the return journey, all doors open on the left.
The 7.18pm train arrives in WGC @ 7.46pm. The 7.36pm train arrives 11 minutes later.
Return trains @ 9.58pm, 10.27pm, 10.30pm, 10.50pm (the last realistic train for Sam's 11.50pm connection), 11pm, 11.32pm, 12.09am.
@ purple_mj - I may not ride the Burls for this. Need a less svelte seatclamp anyway. Otherwise it looks like every ride I do will involve a little more descending than ascending :S

Nice info Scarlett, cheers. WIll wait to see how the first run goes though. Was tempted to go on the Chilterns ride, I thought there would be plenty of time, lucky really as everyone had to catch the tube back into town!

BMMF... and there was I believing it to be only Hollywood execs.who believe the way to improve upon the last is to insert some choice words after the main title to entice the public. In this case however, I believe it to be a touch of genius...(meaning I sniggered)
