Is there now not a replacement space available for a full London team line up to come to karlsruhe?
Just wondering.

i think there are "free agents" floating about, so forming a team even there wouldn't b a problem

Final chance for team practice before the tourney - Tuesday night anyone ?

Non-stop polo for the win... personally I like "challenge nights":
Two teams, no time-outs.
Skull a beer in-between games.
Learn from each other's game style.
Practice new team plays.
Play till dawn.
No winging.Your game tally carries on in-definitely, or the winning team can cash in game wins for beers to even out the playing field a little, woop.
Broadway's perfect for this as the lights stay on until stupid o'clock.

I am into the idea of practising as a team, but no so mad about the idea of more competitive games against London teams. If the idea is to practise, as opposed to try and beat, with other London teams, then I am up for it.

.
Possibly another step towards the stagnation of London polo?
So what counts as a throw-in team? A team that didn't play together in the last league? A team that hasn't played together in a competitive tourney?
In any case, I think it's completely bullshit and is excluding people that have been a part of London bike polo from the beginning.

The idea is for teams (current) to get some practice and work together too to develop their games further, after all, the uks/euros/worlds are all fast approaching. And something we always say after visiting other communities around europe is that they get to play more, that's why they're better generally. They don't get caught up in throw-in days with 30 people and 1 hour waits.
Don't get me wrong, those days are also wicked, but what is 'bullshit' about wanting to have some nights where teams practice together?

This is key. I don't have a problem with this... as i think i said, there's is so many other days people can play.
I think to put it out there instead of 'secretly' pming people is alot fairer. We've all done it. Team practice = better team play, throwins = fun

So long as it doesn't get in the way of throwin nights... I don't think it's a problem... In fact it should be good for everyone, as people playing throwins won't have to wait as long to play...
Have team nights north on a wed, or south on a Tuesday/Thursday that way those that aren't in a team can still play throwins...

I agree teams need to play more to progress and team nights are a great idea.
But it will become bullshit if this is taken away from throw-in nights. I'm imagining BAD & Apples playing team nights to get their weekly polo fix and not come to South polo on a Wednesday... it will leave not enough players for decent games and will not help other players progress.
I am all for polo nights if there is still at least one regular north and one regular south session each week for throwins. And this way Los CoƱos will get to play together as a team other than the league or tournaments (something that we haven't even done yet this year!)

My thoughts on team nights:
Team nights are in addition to regular polo.
Throw-in teams should not be excluded. (How would you try out a new team formation or get involved with team polo otherwise?)
Three teams is an ideal number.
Try and keep it above the radar and mix the teams you play against/with.More thoughts on challenge nights:
Keep it beneath the radar.
Blood brother handshakes before hand.
Talk about other polo players behind their backs.
Wear underwear of the opposing sex.
Experimental polo moves and extreme political opinion encouraged.
Amphetamines are frowned upon, but allowed. -

Experimental polo moves and extreme political opinion encouraged.Dr Chukker will win that challenge comfortably, I suspect.
