Condor £80

There's a list of places in London here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread60484.html
I thought Condor were good, as did my mate. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do any serious miles yet. So I can't yet comment on the long term benefit.

Cheers, that's what I was looking for and the Condor one looks to be a decent price.

In the process of lowering my front end.
In my usual cleverness I dropped the bars 14mm down, and moved them 12mm out. Just before heading out on a 240km weekend.
Felt great though. I moved my saddle up a couple mm, and forward a couple mm. Trying to tilt my fit triangle more than simple streatch out.
I now have a 8mm bearing cap to replace my massive 16mm FSA one. Not sure about going full slam yet.

That's not a zero degree stem is it?
-
• #507
Nah. Did have a 90mm 0deg. Now have a 100mm 10deg.
No spacers, but the bearing cover is 16mm tall.
I have now swapped to a 8mm cover, which feels spot on so far.
Hoping to go full slammed with a Tester cover. Just because. In the spring I'll run the 90mm stem while I loosen into the season.

Thought I'd ask on here before I start a new thread... Anyone know where I can get good footbeds for high arches in size 52? I've looked at the ones Steve Hogg recommends on his site, but the only ones in 52 are the Superfeet greens and they're apparently not much use for people with high arches...

Orthotics are best purchased bespoke from your neighborhood othopedic technician. They can make them for ANY foot as needed.. See your Podiatrist to determine what you really need--- or even if there is a need for anything special.

My brother bought me a professional Retül bike fit tomorrow; I think he feels my perfect riding technique can be improved?
Despite the randomness/insult of it, thought id go along and get it officially confirmed that I hold a perfect pedal stroke.
Is there anything I should be aware of or ask particularly before hand?
All the below will apparently be covered.- Physiological check – includes hamstring flexibility, leg length discrepancies, feet pronation all of which have a bearing on your comfort on the bike
- Cleat fitting - incorrect cleat fitting accounts for most knee issues we see.
- Adjustment - when we get you on the bike we will start to look at optimum measurements for saddle height, reach to the handlebars
- Pedalling technique – the Retul 3D analysis allows us to assess how your knees move during your pedalling action
- Measurement You will be provided with a report showing 17 different measurements for you bike fitting
- Physiological check – includes hamstring flexibility, leg length discrepancies, feet pronation all of which have a bearing on your comfort on the bike

Could i ride it? I know it would be a little big but could I still ride it ok, somewhat comfortably. I am on a tight budget build and just found an amazing frame for a great price, I don't want to pass on the opportunity.

Probably too big. Frames are only "amazing" if they fit.

It is only an amazing bargain if it will fit. Your height and frame size indicate a fundamental mismatch. You need to look again as I reckon 21in or 56cm, ,whichever way you wish to measure, will be right.

rubgybod - we are the same size; I would normally ride 21/22" but also have a 23" road/path bike which I can ride comfortably with the saddle at an unfashionably low (old-school) level. My inside leg is 31" ish so you would also need to consider that as well as top-tube length.
-
• #515
That sounds like it would still be far too big.
But internet bike fit with no pictures or other information is fairly pointless.

I'm about 5'8
My commuter is a 54 gazelle. Straight TTube. I bought a ribble TT with 51 TTube, I'm hoping this will build up straight too but I can't find the frame built up only frame for sale on ebays around the globe.
I'm hoping to make it work either way for, longer trains 'cos its much lighter than my Gbird, but is it just gonna be rediculous and I'll end up scrunched up?

This is likely a question for hippy, dammit and James...
When I go to Scherrit, if he tells me I need a component that he has for fit purposes, does he charge RRP for them, or are they priced competitively?
-
• #519
Parts are generally done at retail price. Much the same as at Cyclefit or other establishments.
-
• #520
Thanks. That could get very expensive, very quickly. Can't exactly tell him I don't want something he is recommending though, ha.
-
• #521
I brought a couple of stems with me and went back for a follow up with a new saddle and inline seatpost. Scherrit sorted me out!

I would actually listen to his recommendation as he insist on having a classic drop bar with a flat top and campag-style brake levers which ever invaluable, he was very specific on the shape.
Remember, you don't necessary need to buy it directly from him, if he said you need an 80mm stem, you might have one knocking around (you probably do you sly dog).
-
• #523
He didn't insist on me having campag style brake levers, ed. He did say my drops were nice though (standard itm ones that came with my ribble).

Oops, carry on!
Any suggestions on where to go for a bike fit for general riding (commuting plus longer rides at the weekend, more concerned with comfort than speed).
I'm getting a bit of knee pain and sore hands and, given I know little about bike fit, would prefer to go to an expert rather than faff around adjusting everything myself and potentially spending on bits that may not solve the problem.
Cheers
