You mean, which bike hasn't hurt me? ;)
-
• #2878
Haha, apologies. I tried to retract that on a whim statement, but you got the memo.

I've never really had issues/pain riding it
Evidence Specimen A
but only after a pal said it looked small
Evidence Specimen B
Tell your friend he looks fat and needs to get a bike with a taller head tube so his beer gut doesn't cause his knees to flair out.

I'm 184cm (short legs though) and ride a 54cm frame with 130mm stem. Race plus happy to ride for long distances.
Your bike looks alright, albeit you're a bit upright with your elbows locked out (for a race bike).

forum approved bike fit app?
I am on android or windows.Over the years I've always doubted the recommended 54 for someone at 5'8. That being said the current project is a 54 and is staying that way.
Next 'new' frame will be a 51 probably. -

Thinking about finally getting a proper bike fit, can anyone recommend a fitter in East or central London?

So, I'm in the extremely fortunate position that my better half has purchased my first ever bike fit for my birthday! Bravo her...
Its a fit at Sigma in Hampton which came recommended by a mutual friend.
I don't really know what to expect - do I need to turn up in full kit with my bike?

I need to turn up in full kit with my bike?
Yes. Also make sure your shoes have plenty of life left in them as well as the cleats. That's assuming Sigma bike fit includes cleat set up.

Look forward to feedback of how it goes. I'm potentially in the market for a bike fit and live in hampton.

Sure - I’ll give report back in the week.

@Chellis88 - it was great, I would recommend.
Jimmy (the bike fitter) is very knowledgeable and I would go so far as saying it was scientific. He is an experienced bike racer and firstly wanted to understand what type of cycling I currently do and what ambitions I have in the future.
My riding position was stressed with over extending legs, feet and overarching back, all things I didn’t really notice. I only suffered a sore back and a numb toe now and again so no serious aches and pains.
We talked about the various elements that contribute to this stressed form and I got a good understanding of what each adjustment in measurement means and the knock on effects.
I’ve come away with some adjustments on my bike and a few components to upgrade.
Ultimately, I am very happy with the experience and I can’t wait to get on the roads and experience the new position.

Good review and thanks for writing it up. Had a look at the pricing and seems like a bit of an investment cost. Will maybe try and factor one when I buy a bike from new.

Yes do - and I believe the will do a fit for a brand new bike to help make a decision on what’s most suitable for your riding.

Do you mind me asking what you mean by 'overarching back'? Is that excessive lumbar bend? If so, what was his hypothesis?
I ask because this is something I've struggled with an 2 bike fits have provided (wildly) differing 'solutions'.

In the videos my back arched from the bottom of my back almost all the way to my neck. This flexing of the spine is a stress position rather then neutral.
The proposed fit is a neutral back and it’s pretty much straight now.

Hola folks, send this way from the any question answered thread...
Can someone reassure me that i'm my new bike geometry decisions are sensible.
Previous bike, Lynskey, was far to low at the front, lead to lots of back/shoulder/neck pain. I wanted a new bike with a taller front end, shrorter reach and more relaxed handling.
I've mostly settled on the Condor Baracchi, on paper the a size up from my previous bike, but with 0.5cm shorter reach, and 3.5cm taller stack. Went for a test ride and it seemed fine, stable at high speeds but plenty agile for my liking. The only 'issue' is that the seat tube is 5cm longer than my previous bike, so there's less seatpost showing. Is that normally an issue? Didn't notice any lack of comfort from the rear end in that respect.
Are there any obvious problems I'm not spotting?
EDIT* i'm 178cm and normally ride a 54cm, the Barracchi is a 55cm.

We’re probably a bit out of the way for most of you here, but thought I’ll let you know anyway. If you’re after a bike fit, I can offer you 10% forum discount at Vankru.

Just PM me for a code. We are in the middle of re-branding at the moment, the website is a bit dated. -

When people say that your saddle should be "flat" which part of it do they mean? Most saddles I use seem to have a bit of a curve to them with a taller bit at the back.
Pic above has the "flat part" flat. Is there a rule of thumb?

i'd ignore it and ride what you feel is comfy
-

It generally just means don't have saddle at a stupid angle such that you're always sliding forward or stabbing your genitals with it heading towards vert

I had a bike fit in July, everything has been great until the last few weeks. I’ve been getting saddle sores on the right side of my groin after every ride.
I haven’t changed anything with the bike since the fit. Only thing that has changed is that my overall fitness has improved massively since the fit, I’ve been working out regularly, riding lots, and going to yoga.
Anything obvious I should look at?
Think we need a better photo. Can't see foot/cleat position or saddle setback.
