hmmm, another chance to buy vintage stuff to ride around town in, I'm assuming this will be a faster paced ride heading out into the countryside...
interesting.
I'm probably in for this... -

Slightly faster depending on numbers, but still a social ride rather than a race. It will venture out of Central London, but not too far. We aren't talking anything too strenuous. Fun for all the family!
Even smokers would be up to it.... ;)

Already been on the bay and there are some bargains to be had..

Great idea
Look also at Tour de Ville for jerseys, some great stuff there and probably good way to return the support they gave recently to Kingspin etc
Could you suggest/poll any other dates? Easter weekend is already busy and people might be away, at least I am and I don't want to miss it. -

i'm into it

I have seen some nice jerseys in Tour de Ville. I best get down there quick!
I figure that if it goes well at easter we could repeat it again. It may be good for the first one to be slightly smaller so it's easier to manage. Then we could look at maybe developing and improving it for the summer.

Looks like the time is right to get all my old jerseys on the bay.
I've consumed many a pie since I were a lad so they don't fit me now.

Maybe stick them on here in the classifieds first? Just to give forum members first dibs? Got any mediums? ;)

I recommend these guys. Good stock, great service and some real bargains in their eBay shop.

Just as long as it's not on the Good Friday..there's the meet at Herne Hill.
-

Yeah, I'm planning to go along to that (to watch). The ride will either be the Saturday or Sunday I reckon.

Why weren't any vintage cyclists fat bastards? Or maybe they were and bought up all the fatboy jerseys leaving only the skinny ones for posterity. The only vintage ones I ever see (like at TdeV) are way to small for my lardy frame.
Not the Monday, please. That is the Easter Classic ride.

For sure - I have a collection, mainly Italian and Dutch club jersies - sizes small to very small. No matter how many pies I consume I just can't put the weight on!

Ah man, I picked up two perfect woolen jerseys when I was in London... pity they don't go too well in the 40ÂșC weather we've been having.

EASTER VINTAGE JERSEY RIDE - SUNDAY 12th APRIL

FIRST GLIMPSE OF THE ROUTE (WILL CHANGE SLIGHTLY BEFORE, OR EVEN ON, THE DAY):
URL for this route is: URL for this route is: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2708673
Route based on best views, traffic levels, and most fun to ride.
FRONT BRAKE IS RECOMMENDED
*FOR JERSEYS, PLEASE SPEAK TO COPPITHAT, OR VISIT EBAY. (CONVICTS OF THE ROAD ARE A GOOD BET AND IF YOU QUOTE LFGSS YOU WILL GET 1st CLASS POSTAGE FOR FREE. AND THEY ARE BASED IN LONDON).*
The long Easter weekend is fast approaching and everybody is making plans. Why not take a break from bills, brackets, beer and bargins and get some fresh air? This is a fantastic opportunity to get outside, on your two wheeled machine, and see some of the best countryside zones 1-6 has to offer.
Think Eddy Merckx, Jacques Anquetil, the Milk Race, Tour De France (but at a reduced speed of course!). Picture cutting through this green and pleasant land whilst coated in history. Down those tools and pint glasses (at least whilst riding), dust off that jersey and don that Faema cap! Suck in that expanding waistline, and push for the finishline!
Come recreate the glory days. The days of thunder. The days of Sex, lies and Handlebar Tape!
Alternatively you could come and sweat bullets in a garish woolen jersey with a bunch of mates on bikes, ride round some streets, fields and woods, then sink a few jars in the pub at the end.
Any help printing and lamminating the spokecards nearer the day would be much appreciated. I am also producing a routecard for the ride. I can provide more details to whoever can help.
