Holton riding close to comp record pace

Tell me about this "single speed" you speak of...

Any news on hippy, @umop3pisdn ?

Just spoken to him at the finish. 270ish miles. Going well at last year's power until 6 hours, then lost it. He's been ill, so not in the best condition to race a 12!
No news on Holton's official distance, but around the 320 mark seems likely.

Comp record maybe then. Was it a good day, or a real good ride?

270ish miles
So he got beaten by a girl

Comp record maybe then
Looks like Jill Wilkinson got women's competition record, held since 1967 by Beryl Burton

Little bit of both. Incredible rides by Jill and Mark obviously. Felt fast riding the course, I think pressure is still quite low and not much wind, perhaps a touch of an easterly which is good for this course.

Cheers for updates. Having the betty's the day before a 25 isn't ideal, let alone a 12hr!

I did a skid at another RAB to avoid becoming road pizza.

• #9687
What he said. Maybe 275. Dunno, don't care. Fucking shit.
Holton about 314 last I heard. We left before any results posted, same as last year, guess it v takes a bit to verify.

Nope, sorry. Jill did about 269 which is a pb for her. I did 275 ish which is a steaming pile of shit for me. #happylittlevegemite

• #9689
Nope. 269, not 279.
-
• #9690
I don't think it was a fast day but I'll have a look at my data before it all went shit.
-
• #9691
Nope. 269, not 279.
Yeah, just saw that on TTForum, although it's all speculation at this point.

• #9692
I did a skid

Wanna buy a skinsuit?
-
• #9694
You'll be back. Totes chapeau to you for riding after having the squits.

The two positives I can take:
- I didn't travel to the US and have a rubbish race (thanks Hoppo)
- It's still a hard 12hr training session
- I didn't travel to the US and have a rubbish race (thanks Hoppo)

Super work on carrying on, that's epic. Was the new skinsuit as comfy as the Assos?
-
• #9697
Holton was riding 99" (49/13)

• #9698
It's a close call - because it's tighter it kinda pulls at the back and the shoulder seams were a little bit annoying but it wasn't uncomfortable and I was used to it by the end of the 12hr so I'm pretty happy with it. The only thing that worries me a bit for the 24hr - it's so tight I don't think I can piss off the bike and there's no pockets so I had to hunt around for a spot to put gels when the team was giving me too many.
I think I actually shuffled it around less than I do the Assos suit (I often have to drag the chamois away from tender bits during the long races).

So was I.
When I wasn't in one of my other gears.

Closest you can get is 97" or 104", assuming you were on the 55t single?
DAS'd Hippy, no skid skud.
