Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but:
In 2 weeks there's a Fixed Gear UpHill TT. 2km ~ 7% with around 200m 10% and some other parts around 9%.
I've, 50, 48, 53, 34t chainrings. 34t is 9-10sp
I've 14, 16, 17t cogsI'd use 34x16 but not sure if too spiny+175mm cranks´
My best time on that climb is around 7:05, 15km/h avg 26.3km/h top after 50km. -

Hounslow Hill Climb
Congratulations to umop3pisdn who recorded the fastest time in our club event yesterday.
His time of 1 minute 38.2 seconds for the 880 yards of Windsor Hill (near Wooburn Green, Bucks) was 12.5 seconds too good for Nic Stagg, the Hounslow's best performer who did 1.50.7
To put this in perspective, here are some other recent winning times from the archives:
2008 Wouter Sybrandy 1.36.7
2009 Hippy 1.47.3
2010 Wouter 1.38.9
2011 Wouter 1.28.6 (Nic Stagg 1.36.4)
2012 Nic Stagg 1.47.5
2013 Nic 1.38.4If Hippy's ride looks 'slow' to anyone, they should remember that hill climbs are the opposite end of the TT spectrum from his speciality. Also, take into account that Wouter was a pro when he did these rides. I think these times show that umop3pisdn's ride was well up there with the best we've seen.
Unfortunately I had to go to meeting which clashed with this and couldn't be present, so at the moment I have no pictures.

So, cap back to front does work...

Thanks Chris! Shame we couldn't meet. Gave it just about everything, the encouragement at the corner certainly helped. Shame that I seem to have excellent form at the close of the season.
My Vukas are for sale on the TT forum, but I can do a special price for LFGSS people.

Awesome! Was the butchery conceived on the PlanetX & did you notice any PlanetFlex on your stompsation?
-
• #7760
Nope, the Vigorelli which is stiff as the proverbial upper lip. I'm not a track sprinter by any stretch of the imagination but I've always found the Planet X track to be pretty stiff, at least compared to the wet noodle that is the Stealth.
I'd be riding steel all week with slow tyres so going back to something light(ish), stiff with fast tyres and tubes felt incredibly fast going uphill. There really is nothing better than climbing on a lightweight fixed with the right gear.

Are they the ones I have left over from grabbing the Zipp pads?
Order form says...
"Zipp Vuka Alumina Clip with Extensions Race"

Yes, those are the ones, like an S-Bend which never quite makes it back to horizontal.
-
• #7764
I think they're the same type as what's on the Stealth, whereas I have a J-bend? on the Shiv? I dunno I just ride the silly bikes.
They're brand new. If you want them, they're yours. £20?
