  • are you saving these up in a doomed effort to elongate the glory?

  • We still have the CTT Champions Night report to look forward to :-)

  • Thanks for arranging yesterday's Sporting 27 Chris, still gutted and annoyed that I didn't road test the bike properly. Sorry I didn't hang around, had to shoot home as my son (who's autistic) was having a bit of a bad day.

**It would have been close between you and Rob if you'd got round without trouble. Your first lap was 7 seconds faster than RG, but he doesn't start fast or slow up much towards the end.

My report should appear soon on UKCS and I'll put a link to it. If it doesn't get published I'll post it here.

Below is a picture of you looking stylish before the problem set in.

  • Not sure about stylish. Puffed out more like!

    Look forward to the report.

    Yes

No, I received an email update from the TT forum's thread and saw it was a race report. I like race reports.

Mersey Roads club dinner early Nov, Willesden club dinner and Champions Night next year some time.

    Look forward to the report.

    Get back on those aerobars!

  • I bloody was!

  • Sorry to have missed it. Was a fun event when I rode it last year (geared).

  • The last Hounslow club event of the season.

It should be possible for you to enter on the line for a private time trial.

The venue is the same as in recent years: Windsor Hill, near Wooburn Green (HCC 011) which the handbook describes as "Start on minor road leading east from the B4440 near the village of Wooburn Green."
The distance is about 880 yards (or, if you prefer, 4 furlongs)

The time keeper and signing on will be at the top of the hill. First rider is due to start at 10.45 am, so if you want to ride you need to be there by about 10.30.

To keep some kind of track of numbers it would be good, if you are thinking of coming, to let me know in advance. A quick post here would be fine. But don't worry too much about this - just turn up if you want to.

To give you an idea of what's been done before, Hippy did 1 minute 47.3 seconds in '09 which was the fastest on the day (of course this was before he found his true *metier )* , and more recently Nic Stagg has won with 1.42.6, and the fastest time I have in my records is Wouter Sybrandy with 1.36.7.

  • Rob English did 1:35.0 up there in our event in 2005

  • Oh good grief!

Vying with Stephen Fry to become the most over-exposed man in Britain, Hippy has managed to shoehorn himself into the latest Arrivee (the Audax UK mag) via an article about a tandem trike (!) that took part in the Mersey Roads 24h!

    Will it never end?

  • Wait until the sex tape comes out...

  • Stuart Birnie won the event with a massive 518 miles.

Surely there's a misprint and it should read: 'A massive Stuart Birnie won the event with 518 miles.' ?

  • Wait until the sex tape comes out...

I'm not releasing it for a bit yet.

Hippy, what's that down your jersey, or do you have a very odd-shaped left tit?

  • heart monitor ?
he's pro these days don't you know

  • Skinsuits don't have proper pockets - I am guessing that is a mobile for emergencies etc
(Although I believe the Assos one does have 2 small zipped pockets)

The Assos suit has two pockets. Holds two syringes of stem cells in each.

  • I just looked at the pic again - that would be the oddest mobile phone.. it's actually a bottle of Pepsi.

  • Coke or gtfo

  • Winners drink Pepsi. Fact.
