Are you Willesden now?
Hippy, do you still go to the turbo sessions?
He's not, but I'm still also a Grupetto member.
I haven't been to a turbo session for two years. Did Ray speak to you or something? I've just the other day asked him if my yellow turbo is at the club rooms. I was thinking of heading down for their Thursday session.
I thought we were talking about Club Events (note caps) as posted by pron_tester.

Is that a club event Hippy?
Part of the West London Combine.
http://www.willesdencyclingclub.co.uk/calendar/west-london-combine/I guess ask Middlesex RC if you can enter it?

If I live in North West London (Queen's Park / Kilburn) - can anyone point me in the direction of my local TT's? Any other good advice for a novice?

Done that a few times with Brave. It is a brilliant little event. Will be there as well I hope.
Hopefully doing a 9.5 mile 2up with my brother on 1st April, should be a laugh.

Are bikes checked prior to these events? I've not ever considered that mine might not be compliant with some sort of regulation.I do have water bottles behind the seat post, and one between aero extensions though - which I gather are frowned on in UCI / CTT circles.
-
• #3660
I thought CTT only had problem with extra bottle mounts added in the middle frame triangle?
-
• #3661
CTT doesn't care where your bottles are

... unless it's mounted on your back in a aerodynamic hump?
Or is it just the UCI who ban under jersey camelbak set-ups?

Slight chance I might be able to make that
It's a Combine event, you need to be a member of one of the affiliated clubs and enter through your club's TT Sec., although in theory you can get a private time trial in a Combine event, you can't enter on the line. Not sure who is running that one, probably Rob Lind. If you want to ride, start making enquiries with Middx RC now

Just the UCI, CTT are fine with Camelbaks either on your back or on your chest, which might actually be better aerodynamically.

Join a club. Willesden would seem to be your local mob, and they can't be all bad because they let Hippy ride in their colours.

Good shout - I have been a fully paid (pied) up Grupetto for some time now though

Are Grupetto affiliated to the CTT?

Ha! No.
I've only heard of a couple of bike DQs. I think one was Wiggins trying to rock a 1080 front wheel at a National 10 Champs? Someone turned up to a race with double discs. Both of them failing the minimum open surface area of the front wheel rule (45%):
http://www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/Information/Procedure/Regulations/tabid/79/Default.aspxEg. I've seen plenty of people riding with wrists lower than elbows and no one cares.

They looked past the drunken swearing idiot and saw a long distance time triallist that might one day graduate to audax participant. ;)

Yep.

Sean Yates was DQed from the National 50 a couple of years ago for the same rule, in this case a Hed 3D

More for borrows than buys:
Does anyone have a set of aero bars (clip on for O/S bars) I could borrow for Kingston? If I get the "urge" I'll buy my own, but if I think "no way" then I won't have splashedcashican'tafford.would buy the loaner a beer in return.

Nat. Champs are dual reg'd so CTT + BC, hence UCI applies.
