I'm going to put gears back on the TT bike and see what I can do. Gonna have to wait until I'm not ill though, hopefully all this commuting will have given me a good base to improve from.

Fuck it was windy and it's not exactly a fast course!!
I was wearing my CCCP jersey, in case Hippy was worrying about my kit.
The one you bought off me? Excellent. That means I've almost done a time trial.
Well done. I might attempt one this year if I can find an entirely flat course.

Yeah it is. Both that and the Gore have done me really well since I bought them. Thanks.

Very good. That CCCP one came from the York Cycle Show. Which means it's a piece of cycling history. Or something.

As I was first out, I got overtaken by 3 or 4 of the real keanos before I finished and the thing I noticed about the really fast guys is that they don't look fast. They're clearly going 10km/h if not more faster than me but they don't look fast. When there's a peloton going past doing 30mph it looks fast.
That wom wom wom is addictive, I almost wanted to get overtaken more just to hear it go past.

They're not; the difference between middlemarker and race winner is often no more than a brisk walk. Stand on a pavement while pedestrians are walking past and you don't get blown over by the wake, do you?

Valid point. I was just expecting them to look visually faster than they did.

You want to see fast? Should of seen me doing RP's this arvo.

What are the chances of me getting on an open Medium Gear 25?
-
• #2061
No problem. The medium gear events are never heavily subscribed (and you'd get preference over the non-MGers).

Sweet. Need brake and 46T chainring and I'm sorted.
Well need to enter first...

Apologies if this has already been covered, but...I've just moved to Putney and was wondering if there's any reasonably local (i.e. west or south/west of London) TTs (evening 10s etc).

My first TT session (and fixed) 50x16 - CPH airport is situated on a flat island east of Copenhagen city centre. There is a round course which is very popular among TT-riders - the course is 7.4km long and my best average today was 38.1km/t.

I have just signed up for the V236 in April. First 25, and first on my aero bike.
Tentative is the word.. -

My googlefu is pretty bad at the moment, because I've almost signed up for this:

I've been looking at arm positions and have been wondering what's best. elbows tight together or running straight down from the shoulders to the bars.
Here the Aus team seem to like the elbows tight but the UK team have them running straight.

Go spend a couple of hours in a wind tunnel to see which works best for you. There is no generic right answer.

I see. I'll stick to what is comfortable then.
