Anyone still using rim brakes and interested in my old TT wheelset or am I better off heading to TTF or ebay?
Powertap hub laced to 808 rim with wheel cover
SRAM S80 frontAlso got a Dash Tri.7 saddle that cost a bomb and I've never even used.

Road Bikes now categorised separately in TT's

The Road Bike events seemed to be getting popular. I guess people (myself included) got a bit sick of chasing aero, typically with £££, so it's good to see something like this.

fits drop bars to the Shiv

At the pointy end of the road bike class, people are chasing aero with 💷💷💷 just as much as they were with tribars

You'll fit right in with all the people running drops on Cervelo P bikes

Maybe, but the baseline entry is lower and for me it would be more of a case of going back to a "run what ya brung" vibe.
My Shiv is gathering dust again, I'm tired of chasing lower numbers, I'm not gonna win anything any time soon so anything that might bring me out of retirement I'm viewing as a good thing.

Someone at Spesh did it years ago already as a joke for their lunch bunch rides or something.
This one...

That has always been an option. It might have made more sense to have emphasised that, since those people who were wary of entering what they perceived as a loaded contest are quickly going to discover that the road bike class is far from a level playing field

There's still a big difference rocking up to a normal event on a road bike with no category for it vs. actually being recognised as a different bike.
-
• #20087
a big difference
If you think "43rd road bike" is very different from "67th overall" 🙂
-
• #20088
I might've slowed down but I'm not that slow yet. Actually maybe I am that slow now. Shit.

I've ridden "road bike" more than CTT recognises, but where I'm categorised as road bike I was 8th, or 56th overall. On the other hand, I was dead fucking last among road bikes but I beat seven people who were classified as having ridden TT bikes 🤷
-
• #20091
As a very small sample size, knowing I'd get a road bike placement in any TT encourages me to enter more TTs.

I don't mind the new category
I don't mind it, I just don't think it's the panacea some people are thinking it might be. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is always criticised as a waste of resources, but if there was nothing the deck chair attendants could have added to the efforts to save lives, maybe it didn't hurt that they kept themselves busy and out of the way.

I just hope England Athletics do the same with shoe categories.

Have you seen all the dog shit & broken glass around here?
Doc Martens for all training runs.
-

Dog shit and glass is the breakfast cereal of champions.
Actually, just make everyone run in army boots. Sorted.

just make everyone run in army boots
Maybe when ctt.org makes everyone ride old royal mail pashleys

UK is regressing so I will have to get behind this anyway I bet.

Anyone got Di2 TT brake levers / shifters to sell?
It's not that critical for me - it stays in place. I'd just do it up close enough to the base of the arm rest.
