How rainy? Seems odd that it would just be cancelled though?
I've ridden a TT in torrential rain before. It was meant to be a WLC 25 but they shortened it to a 10 because of the weather. Not sure what the usual procedures are.

Not particularly odd for it to be cancelled, but odd that nobody at all turned out to tell EOL riders.

Up at WTFOclock this morning for the KCA 50mile TT 14/08/2011 on 86" fixed, two laps of a horrible hilly course.
I was almost a minute slower than last year so not too pleased with 2:23:17 but pleased Paul, James and I took home the team win for the Catford CC.http://connect.garmin.com/activity/106431701
Gravesend CC evening 10TT 16/08/11 tough windy night so not too disappointed with 24:32 on 97" fixed.

Doesn't TTing suck when you're slower?
Anyone running Di2 on their TT bikes here? What about an SRM setup?

Pistolero runs Di2 (I think) on his road bike.

Last Gravesend evening 10TT last Tuesday and as another rider had an old 60's Carlton fixed I did it on my 1956 Lugless Claud Butler with no aero gear 'Old Skool' style 97" fixed and did 26:15

Just in from tonight's 10mi TT. Found out it's the last one this year.
Managed to improve my time by changing the stem, bigger gear and the wind being in the right direction. 24:39 on 87" (42x13) Spun out in the usual place but it was a lot more comfortable after changing the stem - flat stem instead of a drop which has raised the bars about an inch. Normally the wind goes down the valley, and as it's downhill to the turn is pretty useless for fixed. This time the wind was going up so I managed to stay on top of the gear quite comfortably where I would normally be struggling.
Only done 6 TT's this year and to start with I though I was on the gear I changed to for tonight's one. In fact I had been riding 42x15 which is 74" - only 2" bigger than I ride on the fixed beater! Despite that I was riding quite consistent 25:10

Go to ctt.org.uk - check events calendar for Sep/Oct/Nov. You want anything with a course code beginning 'HC'. Local clubs may also have events where you can enter on the line for a few quid - same time of year.

That's "trophies". Eat my dust fatties!

I want to test the TT setup specifically. I wouldn't bother with Di2 for a normal bike.

Bit late to test stuff, isn't it?.....
Good luck for Sunday!

Anyone doing the KCA 12hr in Kent?
Yes.
As you've probably noticed, I'm starting four minutes ahead of you.
I'm just riding to get to the finish for the sake of my club BAR, so you should go past me very quickly.
After your 24 (assuming you've recovered from it) you should be able to be pretty ambitious tomorrow - 250+? Good luck, anyway.
For those of you interested in equipment, I can say my only change for this event will be to use heavy tyres in the hope of avoiding punctures in the heavy rain which has been forecast. I did daydream for a couple of minutes about riding fixed, but I'd already abandoned the idea before seeing the weather forecast which includes strong winds as well as the rain.

Urgh.. fscking hangovers. It's always 'just one more'. :S I need to rehydrate before tomorrow! And look at the start sheet to find out where I'm supposed to be riding and when.
I've not been doing lots of training for this. Prep has been very lax. I'm going to ride at 24hr pace for the start and then try and ramp it up in the last maybe 4hrs or so. Basically, still being pretty conservative rather than risking blowing up and losing lots of time. No idea what the roads are like - is it bumpier than Sussex? Strong winds and rain.. great. Good luck!

I think it's flatter than the 24. The Camber and Ivychurch circuits are on the marshes and seem dead flat (but they may prove to be exposed to the wind). The other sections near Ashford certainly don't look mountainous.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to suss out the course :)
I hope the signage is as good as the 24 was. The course layout is a little more complex to my eyes.
Just got back from the shops with supplies. Really not looking forward to the 3am rise. -

I know it seems improbable, Oliver, and I'm not surprised you missed it, but I'm also riding.

Bike works, body is operating on 7 of 8 cylinders. Should be "fun".
Mine was slightly higher on the TT bike when setup for 10/25/50/100s.
I'm pretty sure I dropped it when readjusting everything for the 24hr and Adamo saddle.
