The A25/11 is the only other fast course I know of. My 50 PB is on that road.

H25/2 and H25/8 are both sub 50 courses if you're good enough 🙂

I hate H25/2 and H25/8 is A31 yeah? I said I'd not ride that again, though maybe shorter races are ok for ruts. As for being good enough, of course I'm not. Worn out, aged, drunk using cheat courses and money to get times probably fits the profile of quite a few testers though..

I have ridden H25/8. Did 56:11 6 years ago.

No ruts on H25/8, just a bit crappy at the Coxbridge turn, which in itself can be a bit of a lottery. Have had to put my foot down there more than once.

Yeah, I rode the nats last year and traffic was much busier than normal for some reason.

Now I'm double-miffed.

I've ridden that road, a LOT. Maybe I'll add the H25/8 to my list, just to beat my course PB for something to do. the 56 was done on the old bike so there's big scope to improve.

This says big bad headwind on the way back... which is also conveniently uphill. Methinks hippy will not be breaking any Fatty9s this weekend.

Well, windsock was disappointingly accurate.
Good to chat earlier hippy - hope your journey home was less eventful than the TT..... -
• #17362
Yeah, smashed it home. Still saw a number of accidents but none that caused any havoc.
I've added my race report to WKO, suffice to say it contains a lot of my typically 'colourful' language. :)Made the same power as last time I raced the course, which includes coasting (last time I had a 58) and the chain drop so actually would've made more power but almost 1:30 slower.
Now it's time for Flanders and some liquid forgetfulness from The Hippy's Arms... ;)

"Pfeiffer Georgi broke Junior Comp record and the Cycle Team On Form led by Cavan Walker broke the Junior team Comp record." so I guess they'll be back in summer to take some more time off :) Good on 'em.

Thanks. Staring last person I felt I had to win, embarrassing otherwise!

What’s with the front wheel?
-
• #17369
Ah bad luck :/
I always take a spare 50mm front, which I haven’t actually used in over a year. Had a close look at it the other day and one of the nipples had broken - Glad I saw that!

Anyone know how to edit a Word doc (ie. paper CTT entry form) without Word?
O365 (the pile of shit) Word Online won't do it because it contains protected elements.
Does anyone have an unprotected version of the current CTT entry form? -

I didn't take much in the way of spares because this shit normally just works. I'd tested tube inflation before leaving and of course it was sound and only let go on the morning of the race. The valve extender has done the last 5 years of racing and of course lets go on the morning of the race. Luckily had a spare tube and did a tyre switcheroo so I could still ride - I only had the spare wheels because I pre-rode the course the day before - if I'd taken the turbo to warmup I wouldn't have even had them. Next time I'll probably take my spare race wheels, ready to roll spares.

I’m off 54 mins before you, so all going well, you can use mine.

With the early morning only events now throughout the summer, I think the E2/25 'might' have had its day, i.e. the changes of it being a quick day will be fair less.
Or am I just saying this because I'm still bummed at being caught in no mans land. Too quick for a MM event, too slow for an open. Either way, I am not driving for 1hr45 for a 6:27am start. Last rode it last year on the event after Thanet RT rider Simon Henderson got hit by a car, to be brutally honest I was just pleased to finish in one piece.
I saw Simon Henderson at the weekend, he hopes to start TTing again in the next few weeks. Was good to hear.

So, after the bag of dicks that was Wales I'm going to go slightly less further afield and ride the A25/11. I THINK this is half of the course I got my 50mi PB on so it should be pretty decent. Lots of RABs though and being old and risk-averse I tend to fuck these up when cars appear.
Still, assuming I get a ride, it'll be a course PB no matter what ;) Oh, assuming the bike works.
When I raced the new 100mi course we stayed in a B&B in Cambridge because I didn't want to lose half a night's sleep just to race. ( I only lose full nights :) )
