25:06.....did you feel over/undergeared?
I'm going on cadence, trying to average 100rpm......giving approx 25mph. Not quite there yet!
funny, but the gearing was about right.....just need the strength. -

funny, but the gearing was about right.....just need the strength.About right, slight uphill first leg and in to the wind back, need to lose weight and improve strength :)
25:08 tonight back on the Bexley CC course, same 85" gear as last week just 531C Raleigh with tri-bars and disc wheel :)

old video so probably a repos but I enjoyed this:
YouTube - 38km timetrial Afsluitdijk
You don't see many TTs like that!

PB last night. 23:56 on H10/181, not lightning quick and I think I've had better results on other courses (both judged by finishing position and perceived effort), but reasonably pleased at any rate. I've been doing the odd TT here and there for the couple of years but this is the first year I've been racing weekly. If nothing else the time gives me something to aim to beat now!

Wan't this weekend the national 24hr? Wasn't hippy racing? Would be interested to hear how it went?
Grim I imagine.

Hippy has his own thread.

one got lost at a roundabout on a local one to me, had to pull him over and break the news that he'd gone the wrong way, so much for marshals eh!

Apologies for a bit of a breach of etiquette but I just posted here about changing a tub in a race. There are lots of experienced racers in this thread and since I'm in a mad panic about getting packed already I was hoping to nudge my question in the direction of some of the people who might have a bit of practical experience.
(posted in this and the Tri thread, apologies for cross posting, but huge gratitude in advance for any useful suggestions)

Thanet RC 25 mile TT today, course was changed to the Q25/10 so I put a bigger gear on 97"
Rode a personal best 1:03:20 and even went through the ten mile mark at 24:15, the drag to the turn was hard work second time around as the wind picked up but very pleased with knocking over two minutes of my PB [yeah, yeah I know it's all course related ;) ]

Looking at doing a few Bexley evening 10s and the Newmarket E2/25.
Should be worth a few laughs.
Hello D, there is no Bexley this week. They have a BBQ on instead. There is this though if you fancy a TT on Tuesday night http://www.btinternet.com/~keithw.ward/GCC/tens/Tens.htm

^ Thanks, I did a 21.24 in May, and should have beaten that last week (thought it was a good night), but not raced since Mid May and my legs were rusty.
^^ Ill prob go up for Bexley next week Dan, if you need anything, give me a shout.

One of our Catford CC club events tonight on the Horrible Cudham Lane course :( I hate it especially on fixed, it is usually approx 9 miles but due to roadworks was extended via Halstead so up to 10.4 miles
I geared lower for the hills 73" but did an abysmal 31 something

Another Gravesend CC evening 10TT tonight, I left the 97" gear on it was hard uphill to the turn but managed to improve on the way back & won a bottle of wine for best improvement :)

It went down very well :)
Pleased today a new personal best on our Club TT this morning on what is usually a slower course for me due to the climbing and sharp turns.

Bexley CC eve 10TT tonight and another PB 24:20 on the 97" gear again, bloody hard to start on the hill but ok once up past Brands Hatch.
I was a lucky early starter as they cancelled it after rider 11 due to a VW meeting queuing up for Brands Hatch and people generally driving like cocks.http://connect.garmin.com/activity/102189598
[Edit to add this weeks ride]
Another personal best again 23:58 finally a 25mph man the last mile hurt like hell where I buried myself to keep the average up and I won another bottle of wine for best improvement on course time :)
Met Bruce off this parish on his first TT also on 97" fixed, Congratulations on a brilliant first TT time of 25mins ??secs -

Same*. But like track bike, it's further forward (only 1cm in my case).
*height from centre BB to top centre of saddle
-
• #1749
Slightly higher than the other bikes. Not by much, but noticeable.

It might be easier if you have someone take a picture of you on the bike. Make sure you're not pointing your toes instead of extending your leg properly. I had my mum take pictures of my leaning on a wall which helped setting it up. Obviously it's going to be better if you can get someone to look at you and just say "saddle up a touch" etc but if you haven't got someone like that then pictures are good
