@ 6pt - I am thinking G10/42 (Dorking) or G10/38 (Sevenoaks) both are run on Wednesdays. Most likely will do one next week.
I'm keen to have a crack at G10/42 but it's a bit of a pisser getting out there in time without a car.

Is there a speed at which you should remain on the aerobars when climbing ie. a speed at which getting up and using the bullhorns doesn't matter?
To hit 24hr power I'm climbing very slowly so wonder if I should bother remaining "aero" or not so much.

• #1631
I read that there was a speed where you're better advised to be off the aerobars whilst climbing, but not sure what it was again and can't recall where I read it...
If you're still on aerobars by the time you notice people walking past you on their way up the hill, defo move off them then.

I'd use the hills to relieve pressure on the lower back and saddle, without worrying too much about <1mph speed variation caused by being non-aero at 10mph.

Cool. That's what I was doing. I just felt dirty being off the aerobars. ;)

Just found out my brother managed a 22.58 on a 2-up 10. His first TT in around 4yrs. Hopefully I'll have the TT bike out next week to test my fitness.

And when you get an answer, may I join you in TT exploits?
Will be doing Bexley 10m this Wednesday. You coming?

Caspar probably, mine took a few months to arrive. Printout of 'My Membership' page from BC site is sufficient.
Also, I don't think you will need BC licence for this event as its under CTT and not BC. -

Alphabetically, noun comes before verb, just as 'c' comes before 's'.

It's just taken me 2hrs to change a sprocket, put on two tyres, put on some tribars and check the brakes due to my bad arm
Still needs bar tape and a chain
I quite like having the bars low at the front, same on my road fixed - the bars are at the height of the top tube.

Hi Hyperbole, was it you in the Rolla kit at the TT last night? How did you get on?
Will be doing Bexley 10m this Wednesday. You coming?
-
• #1645
He did a 26.24.
An excellent effort for a first attempt.

Thanks Andy.
Yes JAMIE, it was me. Thanks for the tips and encouragement before that start. Oh, and for shouting when we crossed each other :)Fixedwheelnut also came over to say hello and gave a few words of advice.
How did you guys do?
-
• #1647
Well done, good effort.
I did 21.45 - My Dad punctured on the start line, so dont think he was too pleased with his time after the rushed wheel change. See you next time, if you want some tri bars to clip on, let me know, I have some spares you can borrow. -

My first TT of the year last night too (H10/18) I'm guessing no one else on here TT's around Oxford?
I tried last week but got a puncture on the way to the start and had forgotten my spare tubs! This week went much better and although I felt slower than I would have liked/expected, I seemed to be clustered around many of the same people as last year. All in all excellent fun and perfectly satisfactory given my dismal training this year!
Oh and the course was 5 mins from my parents' house so my Mum popped down to the course and snapped this.

don't think I need them at this stage :)
Define "need". At the speed you're going, tri-bars are worth about a minute in a 10.
Try the Bexley CC 10s run on the Brands Hatch course (mentioned before FWN gets in there first)

If you want to a bit further into Kent, 7oaks Tri club run an interclub competition with Sydenham Wheelers and GS Avanti over a few courses throughout the summer. Privateers welcome.
