Great pics! Always enjoy seeing the different approaches riders take

Sounds like most of the 24 results have been revised down by 1.9 miles due to a bug in the results spreadsheet.
Gutting for some people.

I'll be back for another go at the 24, maybe next year if not definitely the year after.
Reckon I can add 108+ miles to mine for 400+ if I pull my finger out:-
- 3h more riding (only 19h50 moving this time) - feeding on the bike will be the key
- 5kph extra from a combination of better kit, fitness and conditioning/training to use the aerobars for prolonged periods
29kph * 23h = 667km = 414.5miles
I looked at Strava for my 2016 stats and realised I'd put in a grand total of 58h on the bike in 2016 before this ride. That's all riding including commuting. Don't have a turbo trainer either. No wonder I had to resort to sheer bloody-mindedness and grim determination.
Good news is I went through 180km in 7h15m; albeit a much flatter course than IM Wales...

big pothole I never successfully avoided just before the single carriageway wiggly bit through the cattle farm on the way back
Is it still there? A bump about that point made me lose a bottle last time I rode in 2014!

So @wheels_of_fire you gonna have another crack at the CR when the course is back to normal next year or is it too soon to ask?
-
• #13885
Y'know, I might have another crack at the Mersey. As for CR, depends on weather, legs, etc etc... you're coming back, I hope ;)
-
• #13886
You have to. You're too close to CR to stop!
I'd love to do it again, I know I can go further but mentally I don't know if I can push it. I've fallen out of love with 24s a bit. Will see what state I'm in after TCR, then I'll know if I still want to have a proper crack at TransAm and that will dictate next year's plans.
As it stands I quite enjoyed getting faster at the short TTs this year but that has it's own trouble with my hip issue causing me way too much grief to throw more money at races I have to sit up during. Still need my club 10mi record for the full set... maybe a life of turbo training and short events only next year. We'll see.

PNut said on TTF that he wants to have a go at CR, but he'll let me get it first ;)
You getting faster at short TTs - that will really help your 24, I think.
Listen to this: http://cyclingtimetrialpodcast.libsyn.com/
And best of luck for TCR - I will follow your progress with interest/jealousy. Bizarrely, when you cycle past a Centerparcs after about 160kms or so - I'll be in there... quite possibly asleep.

Has PNUT ridden it solo?
I'll have a listen when I get back or maybe on the train.
If you wake up, that's just me emptying your minibar..

Made it into the Nat 10. LOL

No idea, my PB is 23.03, although hoping to improve on that this Sunday. I may well be the first off.
Would have entered the Open on the same course for this Sunday to have a look at it, but a previously cancelled 10 (on a faster course) got rescheduled for the same day. Looks like I'll need to start training for that 10min+ climb...

Interesting. I have to admit I wasn't massively upset at the prospect of missing it after I saw the profile.

my PB is 23.03
Interesting, I know someone on the reserve list and his PB is 22:50... wonder how that works?

Weird - I got an automated CTT email saying "Just a quick email to confirm you have made it in to the RTTC National 10m Championships on 21st August 2016." Maybe I'm on the reserves too? Assume it would have been a different email though?
@apc I do - What kind of shape are you after, or not fussed?
-
• #13896
I've ridden down the hill, its quite fast in that direction, hope that helps...
-
• #13897
What have you got? no idea what suits me so not really fussed just fancy giving it a go see if I can go any quicker on a road bike..

When did they do their PB? Qualifying for nationals is on fastest time in an open event since January 1st of the previous year. That's quite different from normal selection criteria.
