Really? I'm sure he used that setup for the Newb 12
-
• #10628
He did, then Bideau broke 100 comp record with a camelbak.
-
• #10629
I was planning on it, but got caught out by the early closing date. National 10 the day before so even if I did a PB I wouldn't have been happy with the result.
-
• #10630
Yeah, I'm sure it was all about the camelbak... :P
-
• #10631
Yeah, but everyone copies each other these days. Look how many people are riding Empires with gaffa tape on the laces.
-
• #10632
I've not raced since the 24hr. That's enough time to be well 'off trend'.

More Crr testing - Schwalbe Ultremo TTs are pretty good as it turns out. The Ultremo Superlight came out as a not great again. For HC's probably best to use Cronos, the Superlights are crazy light but you'd need to knock off at least 1kg from your bike weight to offset the increased Crr at >10%.

OK, spare tub it is. Though I'll struggle to actually get it on a wheel!

Anyone want some of Xavier's test strips?
I have some that I'm not going to use if you want to try them out. Also, I listed a TriRig Sigma XF 'flat' stem on TTF but if anyone wants that PM me about it.
-
• #10636
how much for the stem? I presume its the post-recall version?
-
• #10637
Yeah, from what I read the XF is the newer version. 70 clams.

Going to be riding this course tomorrow, but it doesn't look like the straight-line distance between start and finish (1.5M for 10M course) meets the CTT regs to me.

Am I missing something again?

The P164C 10 mile course is not approved for Type A events, and can therefore be outside the usual limits, at the discretion of the District Committee.
-
• #10640
Ah thanks, didn't realise that rule only applied to Type A events.

• #10641
I've emailed with my second DNS. I'm not going to be able to race and make a flight so I'll let one of the reserves have a go.
-
• #10642
Shame, fair enough
-
• #10643
Ready for the snake pass tomorrow

My mate Hamish is racing that on a Seta. Good luck!

Just seen these numbers on Steve Irwin's strava...
VTTA 50 on T502.
1st Stephen Irwin 1:39:29,
2nd Bideau 1:40:10,
3rd Topham 1:42:25,
Holton DNSSo is that the end of Tops's BBAR hopes (if they weren't over already?).
-
• #10646
Yes. Good for him to finally have some competition, been a soft couple of years.
-
• #10647
Nice still riding fixed then Theo
-
• #10648
It's a lot cheaper for racing on than gears, should be out to do some medium gear events next season as well
-
• #10649
So is that the end of Tops's BBAR hopes (if they weren't over already?)
No, there's the BDCA 100, Tops needs a 3:19 but doesn't have to beat comp record to overhaul Bideau, if all else remains equal

Hmmmm what's that, 7 or 8 minutes off his 100mile PB?... Interesting to see how he does, but RJB looks pretty nailed on to me.
Anyone racing the VC10 F11/10 on Monday?
I can see @mdcc_tester on the start sheet - any other forumengers giving it a go?
@umop3pisdn I thought you were down for this but couldn't see you on the start list?
