Get her in some opens and the national!
-
• #10553
I wish! It was hard enough to get her to enter the club hillclimb last year. And she was already there, at the start, with a bike, waiting to watch everyone else do it! It was only the threat of withholding her post-ride bacon butties that convinced her to enter...

Id be up for leith hill, I havnt given the others much thought. What are my chances of getting a place if ive never entered a TT or hill climb?
-
• #10555
Hill Climbs (with the exception of the national) are very rarely full - you will almost certainly get an entry, even without a time/result to your name.

I cant enter the E2/25 now. Calendar clash. Boo.

• #10558
I'm tempted by hill climbs again.

Might do the Rake. Potentially SS on my polo bike as it's my lightest and stiffest bike.
Multiple pub options.

Agree but while training on a fixed gear all those factors are much more common.

edit: I no read well

in my opinion TT training on the road isn't a great mix, training to get any kind of consistent set done safely is more hassle than it is worth, the only thing I do on the road is going to get cake or tempo stuff.
but then I'm perfectly happy sitting on a turbo for 3 hours, so I might not be normal...

Definitely weird.

ECCA and Welsh 12hrs have traffic lights, so does the H25/1 and the ESCA 24hr course. I've raced a 25 with temporary lights too - obviously red both ways for me.

Most of my TT training is done on the road.
Intervals and speed work is best done on a turbo though even though turbo training sucks.

National 12hr on Sunday. Not sure if I should race. I can't really sit down on a bike at the moment. Any ideas? I was thinking of running some medical tape over my sit bones to see if that helped.

Because pain or because chafing?

Will be doing 9-10 across J/L/A/D/O/V districts then the national, just got to get the TT frame into hill climb mode then sort a rear wheel that's properly straight/ drill holes/ chop things and hope I can get up Tinker's in 42/21

No point. Just leave it.

Lejog-jogle record.
Who verifies it? Is a gps enough.
It's not on RRA website. So it's not theirs.
RRA really need to move into the 21st century. Maybe just start up an unofficial records website. GPs data accepted.

That would lessen their record quality though. Ben Rockett's 'record' for example isn't ratified and souls fail under most rules anyway because he had other riders with him. Why not v speak to the rra bods about adding it?
Just my club hillclimb on 11th October. I'm, ahem, not a naturally gifted hillclimber.
It turns out that @Cycliste, on the other hand, beat the club ladies' record on the hillclimb at her first attempt last year without even realising it...
