  • Just put £15 on on Mcgreggor to win for the LOLS. It ain't gonna happen, but is more exciting than winning £5 off a £15 bet on Mayweather...
Plus, he's Irish. A little bit of Irish goes a long way...

  • I've done a quid here or there on mcgreggor in rounds 1-7 or mayweather in 1-2. 20-30/1 mostly. No point favourite betting imo on a crazy race like this.

  • I have £1 on McGregor at 49-1 through Betsafe. Ah.

  • Just watched it, mcgregor was OK. Feel he could trouble a lot of decent boxers. Also agree it was stopped early, he was tired not hurt.

  • May weather had a look for two-three rounds, then was in total control. Magregor did well to be fair, but it wasn't a boxing match in anything other than name....good entertainment though, and magregor is definitely game!

  • Well thank fuck for that.

Was never gonna watch this shite but good to see loads of MMA beauts out back in their place

  • Ref was a bit disrespectful giving pre fight notices/warnings only looking at mcgregor.

  • You can't tell me that Mayweather wasn't told to hold back for as long as possible to 'make it last longer' and appease the sponsors/TV/fans. He hardly threw any punches/combinations for the first 4 rounds

So glad all this is over, it's been a complete farce

  • "So glad all this is over, it's been a complete farce"

    Very much this.

  • I'm not a fight fan but the hype has been fucking crazy, people have gone mental for it here... I didn't know it was on, all over my social media tho'...

  • Yeah, was like an exhibition fight

    Awful stuff

  • Like I said earlier, guaranteed it was either in the contract or he was told under no uncertain terms that this fight has to last.

If he wanted, Mayweather could've ended it within the first round but he didn't do anything til the 5th...looked like he couldn't be arsed

  • Well, that was all a bit meh, wasn't it

  • I've got HBO on a moody stream, and am eagerly, albeit sleepily, awaiting the canelo v GGG match..... it's gonna be a good un I reckon!

  • Pm'd ya... can't link as I'm watching on the piddle pad

  • What a load of bollox. Apart from two, maybe three rounds to canelo, GGG clearly won the fight. A fucking draw. It's five in the fucking morning, I'm not pissed, have had no pharmaceuticals, and I've wasted a night of my life....
    Draw my arse.

  • Managed to navigate around the YouTube channels in the end.

No ideas how that was a split draw!
Punches thrown and landed say it all.

Looking forward to the second fight.

  • I'd like to know what fight Adelaide Byrd was watching tonight.

  • Only referee title fights before....he'll have had a nice fat brown envelope waiting in his hotel room.
If I was americanian, no doubt I would be contacting a lawyer today and suing him for ruining my night. I'm not that bothered who won, either way, but that was clearly a decision based on having a rematch after the interest/dosh generated.
No doubt, carnelo is a double hard bastard, and he gave GGG plenty back, but he was not the fighter showing the most aggression, so even in a really close decision, which this wasn't, GGG should have had the benefit of the doubt.

  • Had £50 on GGG to win - so I'm pretty miffed this morning.

  • I had it a draw personally.

  • That's not quite the point. The point is how it became a draw. Highly dubious score given in round 7 by Trella which made his score a draw and the bizarre scorecard from Byrd.

Hers is the only scorecard I've seen so far that had Alvarez by more than 2 points.

Add the CompuBox stats into the mix and you have a mind boggling outcome of what was otherwise a great fight.

  • Yeah I wasn't disputing that part. That scorecard smells of corruption.

  • I've had a bit of time to calm down now......!

That's what wound me up...I wasn't bothered either way who won, but this result and the manner in which it was trotted out, stinks of a couple of big brown envelopes left in posh hotel rooms.

I still maintain GGG did more than enough to win. Considering he is the champion, carnelo needed to do display more aggression and attacking intent than GGG...which he didn't. The odd occasion that he opened up first and came forward, he troubled Golovkin, but he didn't do it enough.
