I don't criticise anyone who has the courage to get into a boxing ring. That said, Harrison is the prime example of why amateur boxing, where he was, lest we forget, Olympic heavyweight champion, and professional boxing are very different aspects of the same sport. In the amateur ranks wins are gained by technique and accuracy, and hurting people (and getting hurt) is rare. In the pro ranks fights are won by power and hurting people. Harrison never made that step up.

No mention of one of the best fights of the last few years, Pacquiao vs Margarito was in one word; awesome. Do watch the highlights or whatever you can because it'll give you that worm
Rocky-esque glow just like the Calzaghe vs Lacy fight did a 4 years ago. -

No but Rooney's near London Bridge do ladies only classes if it's something you're looking to get in to.
It's one of the more accessible gyms I've been to in London tbh. -

Cheers, I'm going to go suss it out this wed or next. Best place to buy gloves/wraps?
-
• #241
Wraps are cheap at Lillywhites gloves are pretty hit and miss (no pun intended).
Stick to what you feels good to you, but don't go for the lowest price, if they're cheap it's for a reason. -

So then, Evertonian Tony Bellew is taking on Cleverly on Saturday now. All kicked off this afternoon - almost going outside for a punch-up....
This'll be proper tasty as they really do hate each other, no mutual respect at all
Bellew said: "I'm from the streets, I'm from Liverpool. All we do in Liverpool is 2 things; tell jokes and fight!"

Although he broadly said before the fight he'd finish it in round 3, it's not unusual for boxers to predict how far a fight will go, for Haye it was just an assertion of how much control he would have during the fight.
I think Barry summed it up nicely in the debate after the fight, Harrison is delusional. He threw 1 jab that I saw and otherwise covered up. In effect when Haye was stepping up the pressure, Harrison gave the ref no choice because he wasn't coming back with anything and hadn't.
I also predicted a round 3 KO or TKO on my Farcebook profile 3 hours before the fight and in this very thread. I even had money on it but I was just lucky. The same can't be said for Harrison, he needs to retire.
