You're not wrong. People said the same for Fury against Klitschko but surely odds are in Tyson's favour.
-
• #1903
With Klitschko Fury it was more that Fury was unproven at that level coupled with the fact that anyone going over to Germany and beating Klitschko seemed pretty impossible at the time.
I don't think anyone is doubting Usyk's ability but knowing how good Fury is, how good his chin is and the massive strength difference there'll be I just can't see him pulling it off.

• #1904
Yeah even with Usyks work rate it's like trying to push a rock up a hill against Fury. Gravity will always win Homer Simpson style...

Saul Alvarez boxed about as good as I’ve ever seen him. That right in the 7th was scarily accurate.

To my shame, I'm watching the fury fight/nonsense (I was interested in the wardley / adaleye and it was a decent tear up - found a surprisingly good stream so hung around) and I've never seen anything like it. The whole production is beyond parody. Fight hasn't event started yet. So many weirdly bloated glassy-eyed 'a-listers' in every shot. The hyperbole just insane. It's like watching a barney ronay article unfold in 'real life'.

You should be thoroughly ashamed. I am tuning in to Venezuelan beaver buggering, first round of repechage, it is probably more relevant to boxing than that farce.

Strangely, this isn't ageing very well!

The semis were excellent.

I watched a few of the final rounds. Fury must have lost this, on what I've seen.
I'm glad I didn't pay for watching it!

that's hilarious. i take back any defence of this absolute charade. FN was seriously impressive. The judges less so.

• #1913
So Fury was hoping to coast through this one? Thought he seemed defensive about his shape pre-fight.

Just watched full fight...
Intros were superb. A six foot 9 bag of milk. 👌

Not sure either won that outright.
Interesting as a lot of Fury's techniques did not work on Ngannou.
Is Usyk big enough to do the same?

• #1915
Just watched the first round. Even by his own standards, Fury looked well out of shape.
-
• #1916
Yeah, he was pushing that full camp narrative hard. Can't expect people to buy a $80 PPV for a "I don't have to take it serious, I've barely been training, you won't see a prime Tyson Fury tonight folks" buildup I guess.

Think it’s a risky fight for Joshua tonight.
-
• #1918
Pretty much any fight is risky for Joshua.
-
• #1919
Perhaps. I’m surprised they never returned to Whyte.

• #1920
Decent enough by Dubois.

• #1921
No way this goes the distance, Bivol inside 8.
-
• #1922
Arthur took a beating but saw it through, credit to him. Bivol looked a touch reluctant to properly throw his right hand, maybe still tentative after the surgery.

• #1923
There will be a few HW’s hoping Parker does a job tonight.

The worse thing about Boxing is not knowing when the bloody fight is going to start. They seem to have absolute Carte Blanche with regards to schedules
-
• #1925
If that’s the worst thing you’ve experienced as a boxing fan you are doing pretty well
It's hard to pick against Fury tbh, he just has more ways he can win. I'm not saying it's impossible for Usyk to win but he has to fight the absolutely perfect fight over 12 rounds because he's not knocking fury out.
Happy for Usyk that he's getting a massive pay day, he's so good and that jump from cruiser to heavy rarely pays off like it has for him, I don't think most people have any idea how gigantic proper heavyweights are.
