  • Cheers. Going to call Condor on my break to find out if they have. If not I'd love to take you up on the offer! I'm keen on knowing the rise angle/ distance from post and saddle.
It's actually for commuting, got another saddlebag lined up for touring!

  • At the back on the right just before you get to the shoes

  • Cool, let me know if you want to take a peek at it sometime this week.

  • How about the Camper Long Flap, it's got huge capacity. I did a two week hostel tour of the lakes with just the camper and a bar bag.

  • Today I received my Carradice College & quick release bracket, I now need to be patient & wait for my bagman to arrive. Susan moves up the leader-board.

    27 x Sue
    12 x Priscilla
    10 x Debby
    7 x Christine
    7 x Janet
    5 x Andrea
    3 x Susan
    2 x Emma
    2 x Kelly
    1 x Debi
    1 x Gill
    1 x Vicky

  • Do you reckond Susan's just Sue and she's getting a bit full of herself, like how Andy Cole made everyone call him Andrew Cole after a certain point*?

*Apparently this never happened. He was quoted in an interview as saying his mum calls him Andrew and that was misreported as him insisting on being called Andrew.

  • Any suggestions on where sells Carradice bags in London. I'm looking for an SQR Slim and I don't think Simpson's or Condor have one in stock.

  • You might be best off with one of the online retailers such as SJS Cycles or Spa Cycles or Wiggle (they are the CTC shop so carry more touring kit than the likes of Chain Reaction).

  • Cheers, none of them had it in stock (it's not a particularly popular bag I don't think). I ended up getting it direct from Carradiceand will just have to wait a few days.

  • I've used carradice s for years, but I've alwaysbottled out and put stuff in some old army waterproof liners. They're getting old and tatty now.

Does any water get in if its pissing it down hour after hour all day? Or am I better off keeping to my system of two liners?

  • Wax that bitch up.

  • ^^This. Mines dead old but if you wax it it's fine. Less so if too full or in 'longflap' mode.

  • Motherfucking veLLo.

  • Just ordered from carradice their new saddle bag support called the "Classic Bag Rack"

I did not want the bagman because the one I would need for the size of my bag (nelson long flap) has the stays with p-clips on the seat stays and I don't like that. Ideally the little bagman was what I wanted but they advised against.

So that new rack can take all their saddle bags more or less, and work only if you have a Brooks saddle (or similar) with the attachments buckle thingys at the back. As this is the case of half of my bikes nearly, I thought this was the product for me!

I hope to receive it tomorow, and will let you know if it is a success or not. Cost is £29 + postage, only available now with phone order, but should be on the website very soon (the lady said)

I need to find a way of making that work with my Brooks pro, that does not have the clips at the back... not sure if the detachable clips would work in this case...

  • ~~Just deleted and reposted my carradice support stuff so that wrongcog's answer would be straight after you post Ed... but then created even more chaos... the internet will explode ~~

    The internet is now repaired!

That is pure brilliance, most especially for those who need to ride a smaller frame that a normal saddlebag could not be installed due to coming in contact with the tyres.

Let hope it's better than their latest incarnation of the Bagman.

  • Wax that... I've got.... nevermind.

  • Motherfucking veLLo.

    Hehe!

Oh and they advise max weight is 7kg... Not bad I think...

  • How does that attach to the saddle loops? I cannot quite make out the method on my screen and I am intrigued.

PM me your email address and I'll send you the full PDF instruction that they have emailed me yesterday.

I used to have one on a modern saddle and it support it very well providing you're thorough on installing it, I reckon it's more than ample for such placement.

    Plus, the one on the Carradice website look rather decent;

  • This is an interesting option that got funding from KickStarter recently:

  • Kinda interesting but there are far better saddle bag design than that without resorting to a massive plastic clip.

  • Vello, do you have a link to the rack? I can't seem to find it online.

  • Only via phone order apparently.
