  • This new one looks not bad at all. Took them a while to get around making this style.

  • main piece of that rack is on backwards

    should be like this

  • new to the carradice world, just bought my first super c and am very happy with it. I want to stabilise it though: anyone have a bagman QR they want to shift?

  • Still better than the one that was originally fitted to Jan Heine's Firefly. Wish there was still a photo of that.

  • not my bike, email carradice

  • Looks perfect!

  • Like that Odyssey, looks massive though.

On the Tara rack, I can see why someone would do that, I'm always a bit worried they're going to get caught on something..

  • I got an Odyssey for my partner and me, currently £80 in their sale. Seems excellent, as you'd expect. I'd have liked a wizard works bag in he past, but can't see the point now given the price premium over carradice.

  • ...where's this sale on the Odyssey?

  • From instagram

  • Thanks, sounds like a bargain

  • Thanks, I was on edge about getting one.

  • I was in the UK for a few days and needed a bag. The Camper Nelson Longflap was on offer at SpaCycles and I love it!
It was so easy to pack, fully waterproof and worked really well in combo with Jack the Rack.
At the price tag of £60 an unbeatable bargain. I thought I don't like the look of them or the fiddly buckles. While the buckles take more time to open the looks were spot on my loaner 90s MTB.

  • I need a bag for my brother build.
I have a Nelson and a zipped roll bag but neither are quite suitable. The zipped roll is too small, and the Nelson is a bit too fiddly.
I like the look of an Audax (plastic clip buckles seem a lot more convenient) and paired with a quick release bagman it should work well.
Main question is if I want a bagman to use with a Nelson, xipped roll and an Audax, am I better off getting the bigger expedition bagman or the smaller sport?

Bike pictured with the convenient but rather unattractive podsacs frame bag.

  • I have a bagman sport paired with an audax bag, think that's what Carradice recommend.

  • Yeah, the sport is the right size for the Audax, but they say expedition for the Nelson. Trying to figure out if the sport will handle a Nelson so I don’t have to buy two racks.
I reckon the zipped roll and the audax will get the most use long term.

  • Looking for a bag to fit bagman sport QR, obviously obsessed with the wizard works one but way out of my price range.. ideally water proof/resistant and roll top? Thanks

  • It may have taken a long time to discover Carradice, but so glad I did.

Brilliant for helping to restock the champagne supply on a recent trip to Paris.

The SQR mounted bags works well with the Brompton luggage.

  • For Carradice bodging and fitting issues, it might be worth looking on https://forum.cyclinguk.org/ It used to be the CTC forum. Probably has more Carradice lore than anywhere else. A search for Carradice gets 5764 matches.

  • I put a camper longflap on a sport bagman a few times, it didn't look totally weird, but it lost some volume obv.

How about a lowsadde longflap with a sport bagman?

  • In the end when I dug my Nelson out, it seemed like I’d probably go bigger rather than smaller so just ordered the bigger bagman and will trial the Nelson for a bit.

  • Anyone interested in a carradice satchel / messenger bag? Been used but utterly bomber, It's the big black cotton duck Super C one . £30 posted

  • Not roll top but jst get a carradice super c audax imo. Amazing bag. I have the lightweight one and it's in constant use.

  • I have a Camper with the larger quick release bagman. I think because I use the qr rather than Brooks saddle loops, for e.g., the distance between the attachment points and the 90* bend at the bottom of the bagman is smaller and it squishes the bag quite a lot. I know the Camper is the biggest they sell, but I'd say good shout with the larger bagman if you are going to use the qr functionality.

  • Ah great. Realistically I think keeping the bag off the back of my legs is the main goal, so going bigger probably better than smaller too. Don’t want to squish the bag like you say either!
