Some interesting stuff on there.
Everything I’m thinking about though, whether it’s fidlocks or whatever wise, in think it’s all going to introduce a ton of movement.

Do you think you could voile strap the classic rack to the saddle loops? Might work on a Cambium but probably the sheet metal on a leather brooks would be too abrasive/sharp?

I don’t see the benefit—the metal tangs are fine.

I do love a patch on a bag.

Mine keep opening up around the rack. Maybe I should just braze them into closed loops.
I do also worry that the way they lever on the loops makes it more likely that they break the Cambium. I think you could hang a much heavier weight from a Cambium by other means.

Probably I just need to stop carrying so much beer in my Carradice and riding mtb trails with it on!

Closing the loops sounds like an excellent idea, also see if you can use a bungee pulling down to reduce any bounce?

On some metal loops from the saddle rails perhaps

Better off with one of these, I reckon.
They're out of stock. Don't seem to be on the Carradice site at the mo.

I hope this photo uploads ok or else need too many words…..
I too had the problem (or carradice habit) of the grub style screws undoing all the time and the support on the bagman popping out. Locktite did nothing.
So, I removed the screws and replaced with longer ones, but before screwing back in I threaded a nylock on so that once the screw was tight I then wound down the locknut so it was tight against bag man frame.
In 5 years I have had no movement - I think the rust tells how often I have touched it!
It is slightly wider but never wider than any saddle I have ridden.

Spent some time sewing this excellent patch on my new bag this afternoon. Therapeutic, I'd like a sewing machine though.😁

I didn't enjoy the sewing part as much as you have (and it looks that you've done a much better job than me) but like you I'm really chuffed about that patch!

Can anyone remind me what the company that is a split off of Carradice is called? I think they make diving and surfing stuff, bags you can stand in to get changed…?

1 x KeelyI notice the list hasn’t been updated for a while. Don’t know if quotes show up in the search so maybe it’s been quoted and edited since page 74?
I’ve copied it from there and have updated Sue to 39 as there’s discussion back then that that she should have been at 38 plus the mussette I just bought makes 39.
I’ve also add one to Zaneta as Le Chef said they had one from her but they had just posted “+1” and hadn’t updated the list.

Kendall panniers on the front rack, I thought it'd be best with the pocket facing backwards for easy access to them. However I've noticed everyone else has the pockets facing forward... Is there a reason that it makes more sense that I'm missing?
-

I run mine pocket forward, why? Because I do, then I realised that the extra long family packet of dark chocolate biscuits sticking out of the pocket would have hit the frame if they were at the back. So there was a reason after all. Also symmetry, my rear ones have the pocket at the back so it looks more balanced.

Pockets forward means oncoming cars in the dark would see the reflective detail?
I reckon this will work; might not work for anything taller than the Audax because of the risk of the Voile coming off the top
