Reproofing advice please-
What is the go to reproofing wax ,Is it carradice's own or is there another decent brand ?
Thanks

Carradice's stuff is just rebranded (literally Carradice's label stuck over the top) British Millerain wax, but it's much the same as any other product. If you've got lots to reproof, the big tins of Barbour wax are cheaper on a per-gram basis.

Search ebay for Gold Label Waterproofing wax. It what I use.
Also, I recommend a heat gun, or hair drier, to help melt each layer of wax into the canvas.

I've always wondered which canvas they use, I probably love that stuff more than some of their designs. You're sure it's Millerain? Which one specifically?

• #1807
The wax, not the canvas. I think.

Has anyone sent a bag back to carradice for repairs before? My super C is knackered and falling apart after lots of heavy use, and my re-patching skills aren't quite cutting it. Would happily pay them for some repair work. Emailed carradice but they never got back to me

Give them a ring, they tend to be pretty helpful when I've spoken to them in the past. I'm not sure Nelson has internet yet.

I have a bunch of Cadet, Nelson and Longflaps in my loft. DM if interested. I’m keen to move them on.

The wax tins they sell are Millerain; as @tom-g says, the fabric itself is from Halley Stevensons in Dundee - https://www.carradice.co.uk/blog/articles/cotton-duck-the-original-performance-fabric/76 - I think it's this specific stuff (though they only seem to have it in olive there, not black) https://halleystevensons.co.uk/products/the-travel-range/18oz-canvas-vintage-d/

I just got a new Bagman QR clamp from SJS, so I don't need to keep swapping my existing own from bike to bike (as much).
This newer one has "side bolts" which can grub onto holes milled into the clamp base.
Can anyone tell me what they are for?

Just checked: my existing one has the holes and the bolt holes, but no bolts. I must have removed them.
Still, be nice to know their intended purpose.
